experiences as samples of the capability and capacity its facilities and people have to offer. The
itineraries have been listed by ‘Theme’ and can be booked directly, through a central point or

Australian underwater life
Townsville North Queensland is easily accessible as a self-drive destination or via rail or air. The
airport is located just minutes from the CBD with multiple daily services from most of Australia’s
capital cities with 23,000 airlines seats into Townsville weekly.
The class rooms are fancy, the educators and their programs are world class, but above all it’s
a place where education comes to you. You can touch it, smell it, feel it and see it in the class
room and down the road in the ‘field’. Literally, the greatest marine park is footsteps from your
accommodation, wildlife appears as soon as you drive out of the airport, you’ll see three different
landscapes between the edge of the city and your hotel (only a 10 minute drive) and, above all,
knowledge is delivered by world leading experts, most of whom have lived in Townsville
all their life.

This innovative reef education program allows participants
to meet and interact with marine park experts responsible
for managing one of the world’s largest marine protected
areas and develop an understanding of the Great Barrier Reef
ecosystem and the animals and plants that call it home.

The best way to learn about the Great Barrier Reef is to live
there! This educational journey starts on shore exploring
world class facilities where you will learn how and why coral
grows. Then be transported onto the Great Barrier Reef to be
immersed in a stunning array of marine life, explosions of
colour and activity.

Two nights live aboard experiential learning, including up to
six dives on the Great Barrier Reef and the SS Yongala
Explore one of diving’s ‘Seven Wonders of the World’, the
SS Yongala. One of Australia’s hidden gems of maritime
history, the SS Yongala offers 100 metres of the most amazing
shipwreck and marine life diving experienced anywhere in the
world. Giant Queensland gropers, huge marble rays, schooling
barracuda, sea snakes, turtles and much more. It’s a dive you
will never forget.

Snorkel in a coral tank, swim in the bays off Magnetic Island
and top it off with a day exploring the Great Barrier Reef. Your
