period of lethargy. "The Apartment"<br />
sparkling with a whopping 350 per cent,<br />
followed by hard-ticket entries "Ben-Hur"<br />
up to 295 and "Can-Can" up greatly to a<br />
resounding 230. The exploitation package<br />

Services for Maury Feder<br />
LONG BEACH—Services were held here<br />
for Maury Feder, 47, owner of the Roxy<br />
Theatre, who succumbed to a heart attack<br />
while driving in Studio City. Feder's<br />
survivors include his wife, who was in<br />
Hong Kong at the time of his death: a<br />
daughter: four brothers, including Jack<br />
Feder, associated with him in operating<br />
the theatre: Sidney Feder, film producer:<br />
Robert Arthur, U-I producer, and Edward<br />
Feder. and a sister, Ruth.<br />

Edwin F. Zabel, president of the Electro-<br />
Vision circuit, left four capable men at<br />
the helm when he departed for an extended<br />
business-pleasure jaunt to Europe. Heading<br />
this group is Jack Dowd. film buyer and<br />
booker. Other members are Jules Landfield,<br />
district manager of the Suburban<br />
Theatres; Tom Page, controller, and Joe<br />
Kennedy, managing director of the flagship,<br />
the Hollywood Paramount Theatre.<br />
Incidentally, Kennedy also has been named<br />
to assume the promotion and publicity for<br />
the circuit.<br />
