BLUE CANYON

JOURNEY TO A MAGICAL PLACE

Good job I placed my travel folder

in the hand luggage. Normally I

put it in the suitcase. Maybe it was

fate on this adventurous trip, to a

place which is talked about: Blue

Canyon. I had only seen a few pictures

– spectacular stone formations in

cream white and glowing red. Unusually

jagged formations as big as houses

and at the same time delicately

layered as if the slightest wisp of wind

could blow it over.

THIS PLACE IS A MYSTERY

Everywhere I found the same thing:

The exact location will not be revealed

out of respect for the Hopi-

Indians, on whose land the Blue

Canyon is situated.

Blessing in disguise! My suitcase was

diverted to Tokyo and I did not have

time to wait for it. My first job at the

airport was to search the card compartment

of my TROIKA travel folder

for credit cards in order to buy some

new clothes. Was it pure accident that

TROIKA named the travel folder after

my travel destination? “Blue Canyon”

– brown leather on the outside, radiant

blue PU-material on the inside.

Now I quickly hired a car and set off. I

took highway 40 west, then turned off

north. In Tuba City I booked a room.

“You have no luggage Sir? Only these

beautiful accessories?” the man at

reception remarked and wished me a

good night…

“Inukshuk” is a term from the Eskimo/

Inuit language. It is a representational

stone figure that assumes a person’s

duties. One could compare an

INUKSHUK with maybe a traffic light

or scare crow. They can be found at

selected locations and always carry a

special message. Despite the large

variety of shape and design there are

only three different basic types. The

first one comprises of round boulders

that are stacked in pyramid- or cone

shaped mounds. The second type are

flat stones which have been placed

together. Finally there are big expressive

boulders which are most effec -

tively placed alone.

It is important to understand that the

shape of the stone is a message in

itself. Single upright boulders are

usually mementoes, whereby horizontal

arrows are location indicators.

Individual structures communicate

special messages.

The “Inukshuk” achieved official

recognition in modern Society, when

it was chosen as Logo of the Olympic

Winter Games in 2010 in the

Canadian city of Vancouver. It was

designed in 2005 and named

“Ilaanaq” which means “friend” in the

Eskimo language.

Focused work with the “Inukshuk” to

improve personal perception,

concentration and motivation is

highly popular. The “Inukshuk” is

used in anti stress seminars and in

other events relating to wellness,

health and self-perception. Building

an “Inukshuk” in a group of people

helps promote group dynamics.

Nowadays everyone talks about

sustainability. Not many are aware

that the concept of sustainability was

derived in German forestry and is

approx. 500 years old. Environmental

protection has more tradition in

Germany than is known. In the year

1560 it was already stipulated in the

Saxon forestry regulations to only

clear as much wood for the booming

mining industry as can be re-grown.

The careful handling of nature can

easily be studied in our forests but

also elsewhere. In 1972 the term

”sustainability” already appeared in a

Club of Rome report about limits of

growth. Sustainability became a key

word for the state of global balance.

It is used in ecological, economical

and social sense and covers all local

and global perspectives. In an economical

sense the so called ”Cleaner

Production” is of great interest. It

supports the reduction of the operational

energy input, the input of

regenerative resources and the minimisation

of water use.

the equivalent to the man's car.

This citation has been quoted by – of

course – a man. Women would rather

talk about basic equipment. In any

case you can nearly pay as much for a

handbag as you can for a small car...

The appropriate car might not be as

sophisticated a status symbol as the

handbag, but it has an advantage:

Whilst even the Indian mass produced

Nano mobil is supplied with headlights,

This is not a new problem, but it can

be resolved immediately. The TROIKA

Leonard Heyden/Jost, a German bag

manufacturer, was looking for something

special to mark its 120th birthday,

with quality, design and business

tradition as key points. This task was

given to the in-house agency.

THE MEANS

After searching for the right product,

the agency decided on a particular

bag:

The very first ever handbag from

Leonard Heyden, a timeless model

“LH-EINS”, was produced as a special

edition with a limited edition of 120

bags and equipped with a trendsetting

modern item – the TROIKA PO-

CKET LAMP. This special edition

model was partly given as present to

VIPs who were connected to the

brand in a special way. Most of them

were however auctioned off at a LH7Jbirthday

Gala for a good cause.

Whether you are travelling or at

home, all around the world you

will find money counterfeiters. Their

methods have become more and

more astute with near perfect

counterfeits. If you accept a dud, you

have a double problem: On one

hand you loose the money value and

on the other you may render yourself

liable for prosecution. Even if you

were not aware of the fraud.

Precaution can pay off!

MONEY MOUSE – A SIMPLE WAY

OF TESTING FOR FRAUD

Apply slight pressure on the reserve

of the money mouse. The tip of the

mouse will now glow blue.

Shine the blue UV light across the

note. Genuine note – several glowing

strands will appear.

Counterfeit – no glowing strands are

visible. Do not take such notes as they

are not genuine, worthless and may

cause you a lot of trouble!

Also be aware of other characteristic

features of a genuine bank note, such

as watermarks and security strands

etc. Security features may differ

depending on country and currency.

TIP:

The money mouse will also illuminate

your way in the dark. It can help you

open car- and door locks or locate

items inside your bag – a versatile

little helper!

SAMPLES

We are pleased to send our TROIKA

products on request. We do however

hope you understand that this can

only be done on an invoice basis, i.e.

net price plus freight costs. Samples

shall be regarded as close examples

of the items in terms of quality,

dimensions, weight & colour.

OVER OR UNDER-DELIVERY

Due to production and technical rea-

sons, an over or under-delivery of up

to 10 % cannot be ruled out. Only the

actual amount delivered will be invoiced.

QUALITY OF THE GOODS

Variance in appearance of products

and goods may occur for example

due to natural markings in leather or

colour deviations of +/- 10 %. Size

differences of up to 0.1 mm with

prints, negligible deviation of colours

and contours depending on

the kind of material and the covering,

as well as slight deviations of

up to 0.1 mm with engravings and

prints from one produced item to

the next (one order) shall be regarded

as being in accordance with the

contract.

DELIVERIES

Our deliveries shall be done, should

it not be otherwise arranged, via UPS

Standard and will be calculated

according to the UPS pricelist. Back

orders shall be dispatched without

additional freight costs.
