Beginning Acrylic Painting
Ellen Stinger
In this class you will create paintings
that look like oil paintings or are
transparent like watercolor - it’s fun and
easy - and clean up is easy too! You will
also be given information on where to
shop for the best supplies at the most
reasonable prices. You will learn all
about acrylic paints, gels, mediums and
how to mix colors. After this class you
will have a good knowledge of the
supplies and techniques needed to enjoy
this easy to use medium. In the first
class supplies will be explained and
you will be given a supply list, you do
not need to buy supplies before the
first class.

Beginning Rosemaling
Julie Anderson
This class is for anyone interested in
decorative painting, so you can paint
simple designs such as borders, or more
complex painting such as Norwegian
Rosemaling, Swedish Dalamaling or
German Bauernmalerei. In this class you
will have the opportunity to paint a plate
with flowers and decorative border as
you learn basic painting techniques and
brush strokes. A supply list will be
mailed one week prior to the start of
class. Cost of supplies will be
approximately $60.

Rosemaling Workshop

Students will choose a pattern and
provide paper or prepared woodenware
on which to work. The instructor will
give critiques and ideas to improve
stroke work, color and design. Bring
painting supplies. Patterns will be
available. Students should have enough
skill to work independently. New
students will receive a supply list one
week prior to the start of class.

Rosemaling Workshop/
Intermediate Advanced Level

If you have had basic Rosemaling
classes but aren’t ready for working
independently in a workshop, the
instructor will help you find just the
right pattern/project, on wood or paper,
geared to your individual ability at an
intermediate level to further your
rosemaling painting skills. If you have a
wood piece you would like to decorate,
bring it along, and there will be a design
that’s just right for you to use. Bring
painting supplies. New students will
receive a supply list one week prior to
the start of class.

Build a Triangle Loom and
Learn to Weave!
Judith Goebel
Have you heard of triangle weaving? It
is a technique for weaving on a triangle
new!
loom. You will be weaving
by the end of the first class!
In subsequent weeks we will discuss
weaving patterns and color, estimating
yarn requirements, and assembling
multiple triangles to create squares,
rectangles and larger triangles. No prior
experience required, but basic ability to
use an electric drill and drive nails will
be helpful. Students will need to bring
electric drill and small hammer to
class. A supply list will be mailed one
week prior to the start of class.
Materials to build loom should cost
less than $20 and other materials
should cost less than an additional
$20.
