General plan

URBAN INTERVENTION PROYECT . SAN DIEGO. TRICONTINENTAL MASTERS

PROJECTS DURING THE STAY AT TJAD.
ZHENGZHOU’S VIP ROOM AND INTERIOR FACADE.
The meeting room is
built by using a serie
of transversal
elements or "ribs".
These ribs give shape
to the whole space.
And, after that, they
are covered with
diferent materials in
order to create a
continous element with
diferent levels of
tranparency.

The second proposal seeks to
create the feeling of a
fluid space by a succession
of parallel elements which
have different size on its
vertical component.
These elements will also
support the space for the
meeting room .

The third proposal is based on the
use of opaque belts which conform a
serie of skylights on the top.
These belts, increasingly bigger,
embrace the inner space destinated
to the meetings.

Network of shared spaces
CONCEPT
The main idea which articulates the project is to create a kind or public skeleton which communicates the whole private spaces by
a series of linked spaces all through the building.
These public skeletons for the building will host different shared uses as laundry spaces, gardens or playground areas.
Both spaces, the public and the private one, are disposed according to the Menger sponge´s geometry. As a result of that, the
public space springs up as the negative image of the private one. The building itself is the result of the overlapping of both kinds
of spaces in the three dimensions.
So, the housing unit is made by the addition of a certain number of basic modules each containing a basic room unit. Every housing
unit is also, in a certain way, compose by some public units, which link the living area with the public spaces.
