Technical Data Sheet Thoroughly wash down/clean tropical woods and high-resin, tacky wooden surfaces using Tex-Color Nitroverdünnung and allow to flash off thoroughly. Pitch pockets must be burnt out. Corners must be rounded. The moisture content of the wood should be measured in several places at a depth of at least 5 mm. For softwood this should be no more than 15%, for hardwood no more than 12%. Greyed wood must be removed completely using mechanical techniques to reveal the healthy wood. Check that the substrate/old coating is suitably compatible with the new varnish before application. Also give consideration to the structural preservation of wood used outdoors. Damage to the coating may occur if the wood has not been structurally preserved properly. Application Guide Tex-Color Imprägnier-Lasur TC 6303 should be shaken or stirred before use, and occasionally whilst working. It is advisable to apply the product using artist's or decorator's brushes or by using a dipping method. Softwoods and hardwoods that are at risk from rot, fungus or blue stain must be impregnated with 2 coats of Tex-Color Holzschutzgrund TC 6301 farblos (colourless) by either brushing or dipping. Structural components and/or woods that are exposed to very harsh weathering effects should be provided with a further final coat of Tex- Color Imprägnier-Lasur TC 6303. Please take into consideration that the colour of the finish will be intensified with each additional coat. Use Imprägnier-Lasur farblos (colourless) if required. Restorative work (After 2 - 3 years) Brush off surface and clean, apply one coat of Tex-Color Imprägnier-Lasur TC 6303 farbig (coloured) and one coat of Imprägnier-Lasur farblos (colourless). Note: Colourless Tex-Color Imprägnier-Lasur TC 6303 can be used to lighten darker colours. Do not use the colourless product on its own. Quantities Cleaning of tools Drying time Application temperature Approx. 12 ml/m², dependent on the roughness of the substrate. If a precise calculation is required then a test coat should be applied to an appropriate surface. Clean using turpentine substitute or Tex-Color Pinselreiniger paint brush cleaner. Dust dry after approx. 4 hours at temperatures of approx.+20 °C and max. 65% humidity. Touch dry after approx. 8 hour. Can be sanded and painted over after approx. 12 hours. These times may increase depending on the temperature and humidity. The temperature of the surrounding environment and item being painted should be at least +5 °C during application and drying. Notes Safety advice VOC safety notice Disposal Tex-Color Imprägnier-Lasur TC 6303 contains flammable and vaporescent components. Ensure that all usual precautions recommended for oil-based wood preservatives are taken when storing and working with this product. Please refer to the information sheet “Correct handling of wood preservatives” (“Über den Umgang mit Holzschutzmitteln”), contained in the currently valid ´Directory of Wood Preservatives´ (“Holzschutzmittelverzeichniss”) . Tex-Color Imprägnier-Lasur TC 6303 must be stored out of reach of children and should not be used to paint toys. Avoid getting Tex-Color Imprägnier-Lasur TC 6303 on the skin - if necessary wash hands with soap. Fire and naked lights must be strictly prohibited when working in closed rooms. Ensure rooms are well ventilated. Stalls used for young livestock and small animals, as well as barns and food stores, should only be used after the coating is dry and the room has been well ventilated. Beehives must not be treated with Tex-Color Imprägnier-Lasur TC 6303. Plants and vegetables must be protected from contact with Tex-Color Imprägnier-Lasur TC 6303. Do not store foodstuffs and animal feed in the same location as Tex- Color Imprägnier-Lasur TC 6303. Use biocides carefully. Always read the label before use. Where necessary, the designation can be found in the safety information sheet. Safety notice: EU limit value for this product (Cat. A/e): 500 g/l (2010). This product contains a maximum of 500 g/l VOC. Containers should be completely empty before recycling. Waste material should be disposed of in accordance with AVV waste classification regulations disposal code 080111 (where applicable).
