The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) has determined that training under the federal Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program may be

necessary to enable the trade-affected worker named above to obtain suitable employment.

In attempting to identify appropriate training, TWC, through its agents, explored the following target occupations with the worker, which

included discussing the anticipated wages of each occupation at entry and over time, the anticipated local employer demand for workers

trained in the occupation, and the likelihood that a training program could be crafted to supply all of the skills that the worker named above

would need to become job-ready for the occupation within the 104 weeks (130 weeks if remedial education is necessary) allowed for TAA

Name of Demand/Target Occupation Explored

Expected Wage Replacement

After these discussions, the worker chose to be trained in the following target occupation: ______________________________________

The main reasons the worker chose this occupation over the others discussed were: __________________________________________

The worker may be able to have the costs of such training paid on the worker’s behalf if funding is available. TWC agents will assist the worker

in locating feasible and appropriate training. Vocational training cannot exceed 104 weeks, or 130 weeks if remedial education is also needed.

To receive Trade Readjustment Allowances (TRA), the worker must be enrolled in an appropriate training program within eight weeks of the

petition certification date, or within 16 weeks of the most recent qualifying separation from adversely affected employment, or have completed

an approved or approvable training program, or have received a written certification waiving the training requirement. The worker must make a

bona fide request for training within 210 days of their qualifying separation or the certification date of the petition, whichever is later, to be

eligible for additional TRA benefits. The approval of a training program does not guarantee TRA benefits throughout the entire training period.

I hereby certify that I have been informed of the services described above. If completed, this form serves as a bona fide request for training.
