With a focus on the technology of meat and poultry processing,

training program topics range from lectures on basic meat

science to demonstrations of processing techniques. Speakers

(Iowa State University, industry, and ConAgra Foods), nationally

and internationally recognized authorities in their fields, will provide

information about the latest technology available. You must complete

Level 1 before taking Level 2 and complete Level 2 before taking Level 3.

Individuals successfully completing Level 1 will be designated as ConAgra

Foods Green Belt Processing Specialists. Those completing Level 2 will

be designated as ConAgra Foods Red Belt Processing Specialists. Those

completing Level 3 will be designated as ConAgra Foods Brown Belt

Processing Specialists. Individuals designated as ConAgra Foods Brown

Belt Processing Specialists are eligible to participate in Phase II of ConAgra

Foods' Meat and Poultry Training: The Black Belt Training Program.

Location

The Meat and Poultry Training

Programs will be held at the

Iowa State University Meat

Laboratory. A shuttle bus

will transport you between

The Hotel at Gateway Center

and the Meat Laboratory. If

requested, shuttle service will

also be provided between

the Des Moines International

Airport and Ames.

Schedule

The courses will begin with a reception and dinner either Sunday

or Monday evening, depending on the length of the course, at 6:00 p.m.

at The Hotel at Gateway Center. They will conclude with lunch from 11:30

a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. A bus will return you to the Des Moines

Airport in time for a 3:00 p.m. or later departure. The course will begin

each day with a continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at the Meat Laboratory

and conclude each day with a reception and dinner.

Lunch will also be provided each day.

A block of sleeping rooms has been

reserved at The Hotel at Gateway

Center, Ames, Iowa. ConAgra Foods

will make your hotel reservations

for you. Attendees are responsible

for paying their hotel bill at checkout.
