Zamorano: Programa Regional Manejo de Cuencas (Procuencas)<br />

Zamorano is a Pan-<strong>America</strong>n Center of higher education whose mission is to prepare leaders for the <strong>America</strong>s<br />

<strong>in</strong> susta<strong>in</strong>able agriculture, agribus<strong>in</strong>ess, agro<strong>in</strong>dustry, natural resources management and rural development.<br />

Procuensas focuses on protect<strong>in</strong>g watersheds by work<strong>in</strong>g with communities to prevent and control<br />

forest fires, promote susta<strong>in</strong>able agricultural practices, and raise environmental consciousness.Over the past<br />

year, Zamorano students and faculty worked extensively with other organizations and <strong>in</strong>stitutions such as<br />

local governments, community groups, NGOs, and <strong>in</strong>ternational universities.<br />
