Hi, my name is <strong>Jeni</strong> <strong>Baker</strong>! Finding ways to be creative every day is an important part<br />
of my life, whether it be through my sewing and quilting, photography, fabric design<br />
or blogging. I love nothing more than to be surrounded <strong>by</strong> fabric, and my favorite part<br />
of the sewing process is choosing colors. I love figuring out how to make things work as<br />
well as designing my own patterns.<br />
Currently, I teach sewing classes part time at The Sewcial Lounge, a modern sewing<br />
and fabric shop in Madison, WI. I design fabrics for Art Gallery Fabrics and design sewing<br />
patterns under my own name. In addition to sewing, I love to bake, go thrifting,<br />
and collect vintage kitchenware and vintage sheets.<br />
I’m originally from Northeast Ohio, where I was born, grew up, and attended college. I<br />
graduated with a degree in Marketing and Studio Art from Baldwin-Wallace College in<br />
2011. We try to make it back home at least twice a year!<br />
I first started blogging in 2000, around the time the term “blog” was first being used.<br />
My blogs then were more like personal journals and makeshift portfolios. I took a break<br />
from blogging while I finished high school, but found myself revisiting the hob<strong>by</strong> when<br />
I started sewing more seriously. In Color Order was started in Spring 2009, as a place to<br />
share my projects and thrifting finds.<br />
I have a Janome Horizon 7700 and a Janome Memory Craft 4800, and I love them<br />
both! They’ve served me very well. I quilt the majority of my own quilts, from mini quilts<br />
to a queen sized quilt. I have a vintage Singer Featherweight 221 as a backup/travel<br />
machine.<br />
My latest collection is called <strong>Geometric</strong> <strong>Bliss</strong>! It is a blissful collection of folk inspired florals<br />
and edgy geometric prints full of movement. Explore bold color combinations and<br />
