Abstract:
The aim of the course is to summarize and expand the students knowledge from the department of AICT to
the area of Mechatronics. This course considers topics of electromechanical drives, operation of machines
and robots, manipulators and etc. The discipline is based on the knowledge, acquired during the following
courses: Theory of Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Devices, and is also connected to Control of
Electromechanical Systems-1 and 2.
Course content:
Introduction into mechatronics. Motion control devices. CNC devices. Programming of CNC. Uses of CNC
for dimension control. Robots and manipulators. Communication protocol in mechatronic systems
Teaching and assessment:
Continuous assessment takes place both during lectures and practice classes and is combined with the
results from the preliminary oral exam and 1 test. Point system for assessing students’ knowledge is also an
option. If a student gets a poor mark on the test, he has to sit for a supplementary exam.
