system (eds) of the GSBL before or on the due

2. Students are required to obtain a year-mark
of at least 40% in order to gain admission to the
examination in the paper concerned.
EXAMINATION
1. In all the papers the weight of the year mark is
40% and that of the written examination 60% of
the final mark.
2. The pass mark for a paper in all the years is
50%. The pass mark for an aegrotat, special or
supplementary examination is also 50%.
3. The year mark will only be taken into
consideration when an aegrotat or special
examination is written and not in the case of a
supplementary examination.
4. To qualify for a supplementary examination, a
candidate must obtain an examination mark of at
least 40% (subminimum) and a final mark of at
least 45%.
5. Supplementary, special and aegrotat
examinations may be granted, subject to the
conditions set out in my Rules @ Unisa.
6. To be awarded the degree with distinction, a
candidate must obtain an average of at least 75%
in the second and the third years combined.
