which can be expensive in some countries.
family.
When choosing your rental car take into consideration the size of the vehicle you require. European vehicles
tend to be small in size. Think about the length of time you will be needing the car and most importantly
think about how much shopping you are going to be doing – you may need extra space!
Use our European Car Guide on page 5 to help you choose what will suit your needs best.
assistance in case of breakdown or emergency, local tax
year offering huge savings to non-European residents and best of all you get to drive Europe in style! You
can choose either left hand drive or right hand drive vehicles depending on where you plan to spend most of
your time and if you are worried about getting lost then there are a number of vehicles offering GPS systems
to help you find your way. We recommend that you book your lease at least 6 weeks in advance. For more
information please refer to pages 26 & 27.
Lease Includes: A brand new vehicle, unlimited kilometres, anti-theft device, full comprehensive insurance
with no excess for fire, theft, accident & legal protection, 24 hour Roadside assistance, no additional driver
Motorhomes
What better way to explore Europe than being in your ‘home away from home’. Motorhomes not only include
your transportation but it is also your accommodation on wheels, so no need to worry about packing and
unpacking all the time.
You have the freedom to explore the vast countryside’s and unique experiences away from the cities and
highways. Once you have had enough for the day, park up and settle in for the night.
drive the united kingdom
drive the united kingdom
Britain is full of contrasts; whichever direction you travel you will find a wide variety of landscapes and diverse cultures to
explore. England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are all unique countries with their own customs, cultures and
tradition. Make your self-drive holiday of the UK special by taking the scenic routes and drive along winding country lanes to
delightful market towns and villages where you can explore everything from friendly pubs to centuries-old churches. The UK
has an excellent road network with motorways and dual carriageway roads linking many of the main cities and towns, but
don’t be afraid to get off the beaten track as country roads are well surfaced and clearly sign posted.
DRIVING Tips
• In Britain you drive on the left hand side so it makes life simple for Kiwi
travellers.
SCOTLAND
• Try to stay clear of the main cities especially in busy holiday times, as
there can often be long delays.
• If driving around in London beware of the London Congestion Fees –
Look out for the red sign with a C. Current Congestion operation hours
are 7am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Red
traffic signs will make it very clear exactly where the charging zone is.
You can pay the London Congestion Fee at time of collection of your
rental car. For more information visit www.cclondon.com
• Speed limits are in miles per hour.
• Never park on yellow lines, in resident only areas or where ‘no waiting’
signs are displayed. As a renter you are responsible if your hire car is
clamped, towed away, or if you are fined for illegal parking.
REPUBLIC
OF IRELAND
NORTHERN
IRELAND
BELFAST
EDINBURGH
• A good map is essential! The AA Big Road Atlas is available in New
Zealand and can be purchased through map suppliers in a sturdy wire
bound edition.
• When coming into a larger town or city, look for the Park’n Ride car
parks. These are generally on the outskirts and offer cheap parking.
A bus or train is then available to take you into the city centre.
• Large supermarkets often have the cheapest petrol; motorway service
areas are generally more expensive.
castles of uk
Castles of UK
Britain is blessed with stunning castles, many with history
going back centuries. Over the generations these fabulous
buildings have evolved into historic hotels which blend modern
comforts into the grandeur and style of days gone by. Some
are now internationally recognised 4-star or better hotels, while
others still remain in the original family ownership, with only a
few guest rooms – each one distinctive and very comfortable.
With a selection of over 50 magnificent castles available,
offering castle-stay and castle-view accommodation. These
properties are available on request. Please ask for details.
Prices range from $117 to $265 per person per night share twin
including breakfast. Plus weekend and peak season supplements
apply to some castles and are additional.
tulloch castle studley castle the castle at taunton
Tulloch Castle is a magnificent fortress
dating back to the 12th century, with a ready
welcome for travellers.
When you arrive, you will be met with
countless period features, including the
250-year-old panelled Great Hall. With
unrivalled hospitality, superb food and an ideal
location, make this your home as you travel
the Highlands. All old castles should have a
ghost, and Tulloch is said to have one in the
shape of the “Green Lady”. Now, just how
green she is, and the details of her existence
we do not know, but she has been seen over
the centuries. A portrait of her hangs in the
Grand Hall.
Tulloch Castle has just 20 well appointed
bedrooms, all with their own unique character
and charm.
Deep in the Warwickshire countyside set in
the tranquil surroundings of its own 28-acre
estate, Studley Castle is a place of great
character and charm. Close to historic
Stratford-Upon-Avon and the Cotswolds, the
hotel was built in the Victorian times in the
style of a medieval castle. With its elegant
Georgian dining room and lounge, it provides
the perfect setting for a unique stay. It is an
ideal oasis of calm from which to explore the
heritage sites and gardens of the surrounding
area.
The hotel has 57 high-quality bedrooms,
including Suites, Superior and Standard
Rooms.
The Castle at Taunton is steeped in the
drama and romance of English history. Once
a Norman fortress, it has been welcoming
travellers to the town since the 12th century.
In 1685, the Duke of Monmouth’s officers were
heard “roystering at the Castle Inn” before
their defeat by the forces of King James II
at Sedgemoor. Shortly after, Judge Jeffreys
held his Bloody Assize in the Great Hall of the
castle. Today the castle lives at peace with its
turbulent past but preserves the atmosphere of
its ancient tradition. The Chapman family has
been running the hotel for 60 years and, in that
time, it has acquired a worldwide reputation for
the warmth of its hospitality.
There are 44 luxurious, beautifully decorated
bedrooms, all of a distinctive style, and a sense
of home as befits a famous family-owned hotel.
a taste of ireland
4 days / 3 nights from Dublin
a taste of ireland
On this circle trip from Dublin, visit some important historic sights as well as some spectacular views along the way. Drive
narrow and winding roads that offer beautiful panoramas of the Irish countryside, stone walls and hilly terrain.
Day 1: Dublin – Glendalough – Arklow – Enniscorthy – Wexford
(Distance 151kms)
South of Dublin, take the road to Enniskerry and Glendalough through the
Wicklow Ranges, this road is much more picturesque than the coastal one.
The visit to Glendalough’s Monastery will be one of the most interesting
attractions of the whole trip. Do not miss Saint Kevin’s Church as well as
the ruins of the Cathedral. The quaint port of Arklow is an old seaside resort
founded by the Vikings and where the famous Gypsy Moth III was built. You
will then reach the historic town of Enniscorthy on the River Sanley with its
impressive Castle, before reaching Wexford an ancient city famous for its
Opera Festival in October.
Overnight: Wexford.
Day 2: Wexford – Waterford via ferry
(Distance 64kms or half that distance with the ferry)
This will be a short drive but you could take a longer route via New Ross if you
want to avoid the ferry across Waterford Harbour. Waterford is an important
seaport with more than just the crystal factory to see. You must stroll the
picturesque fishing village of Dunmore East, a few kilometers south. The
quaint holiday resort of Tramore also in the vicinity is worth seeing, it is one of
the main seaside resorts in Ireland and offers beautiful walks along its cliffs. Of
course, the Waterford Crystal factory is not to be missed.
Overnight: Waterford.
Day 3: Waterford – New Ross – Kilkenny (Distance 63kms)
Enjoy the scenery offered by the Kilkenny and Wexford counties. New Ross,
your first stop is an old city founded in the 13th century and very pleasant with
its narrow streets and passages on the River Barrow. Saint Mary’s Church is
built on the site of one of the most ancient Irish churches. South of New Ross,
in Dunganstown is the Kennedy Homestead, this is the place where the greatgrandfather
of John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born. Kilkenny, your next night
stop is a very interesting medieval city with a lot of character and charm. Its old
houses and buildings are very well preserved and walking through its narrow
streets is a real delight. Kilkenny’s Castle, built in the 12th century is a must
as well as the Saint Canice Cathedral. Shopping is also very good here with
high quality ceramics, textiles and jewellery. An interesting place for a meal is
Kyteler’s Inn, a restaurant since 1324.
Overnight: Kilkenny.
Day 4: Kilkenny – Carlow – Kildare – Russborough House – Dublin
(Distance 159kms)
Carlow, has been the site of numerous battles between Irish and Anglo
Normands, the last one in 1798. A picturesque road, along the canal, will
lead you to Kildare, where a beautiful cathedral can be seen and marvellous
Japanese gardens deserve a relaxing and enjoyable stop. Visit Russborough
House, a magnificent Estate. Its location, overlooking the Poulapouca Reservoir
and facing the Wicklow Range is perfect for such an elegant place. Your next
stop, weather permitting, should be at Blessington, on the Reservoir, where you
could rent a small boat for an enjoyable outing before reaching Dublin.
Experience Ireland through the eyes of some of the most famous writers of our time. Visit the childhood homes of CS Lewis
and George Bernard Shaw, and the home of Oscar Wilde. An enlightening tour of Ireland’s literary heritage.
Day 1 Dublin – Belfast (Distance 199kms)
From Dublin Airport travel west to County Meath to the spectacular Passage
Graves at Newgrange, believed to be older than Egypt’s pyramids. Drive north
to Inniskeen, County Monaghan and celebrate the life of Patrick Kavanagh at
the Literary Centre of the same name. Continue on to Belfast.
Overnight: Belfast.
Day 2 Belfast
Take your time to enjoy Belfast. Don’t miss Writer’s Square in the Cathedral
Quarter, where quotes from famous local authors have been inscribed into the
paving stones. Have a drink at the Crown Bar, a favourite haunt of Sir John
Betjeman. Little Lea on Circular Road, was the childhood home of CS Lewis
(now a private residence) and nearby St Mark’s church was where the great
author was baptised and confirmed – there’s a sculpture dedicated to him
outside the Holywood Arches Library. Head outside the city to Cave Hill and
a spot called ‘Napoleon’s Nose’, which is thought to have inspired Jonathan
Swift to create the sleeping giant in Gulliver’s Travels.
Overnight: Belfast.
Day 3 Belfast – Sligo (Distance 201kms)
A long drive today to Sligo, stopping off in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, for
a bite to eat along the way. In Sligo town’s tourist information office, pick up
a Yeat’s Country Drive leaflet – this is a 164km circuit of sites associated with
the poet and if you have a few more days to spare it’s definitely worth taking
in as many of the sights as you can. Alternatively, just visit his grave in its
beautiful setting at Drumcliff Church and foray to the Lake Isle of Innisfree and
Lough Gill to take in the brilliant countryside.
Overnight: Sligo.
Day 4 Sligo – Galway (Distance 136km)
Explore Galway, a lively city with its strong artistic heritage, before travelling
on to Kinvara, County Galway. Dunguaire Medieval Castle hosts medieval
banquets (by arrangement) where you can feast on four courses, Irish music,
song and poetry by authors including the greats, WB Yeats, GB Shaw and
Sean O’Casey.
Overnight: Galway.
Day 5 Galway – Limerick (Distance 102km)
It’s just a short drive to Coole Park, near Gort, County Galway, which boasts
deer, a lake and stunning nature walks. Take a peek at the ‘Autograph Tree’
where authors like Yeats, Synge, O’Casey and Shaw carved their initials. Then,
nip across to Thor Ballylee, where Yeats restored and lived in the 16th century
stone tower with his wife soon after they married. On to Limerick, for the
Angela’s Ashes Walking Tour of sights associated with this famous novel.
Overnight: Limerick.
Day 6 Limerick – Dublin (Distance196km)
From Limerick continue to Dublin for the grand finale of your tour. Visit the
Dublin Writers’ Museum, the James Joyce Centre, Oscar Wilde’s house in
Merrion Square, the childhood home of George Bernard Shaw and much
more. Visit the Book of Kells - a beautiful illuminated manuscript dating back
to the Middle Ages or you could even take part in a literary pub tour, bringing
you through the watering holes of those well-famed for their penmanship.
Excellent fun for all participants and a true testament to the grand scale of
Ireland’s literary heritage.
drive italy
Italy sits in the heart of the Mediterranean shielded from the rest of Europe by the vast sweep of the Alps. People have been
drawn to Italy in search of culture and romance for many centuries. Few countries can compete with its classical origins, its
art, architecture, musical and literary traditions, its scenery or food and wine. The best way to see Italy is by car!
DRIVING Tips
• As many of the European countries, Italians drive on the right hand side
therefore rental cars are all left hand drive vehicles.
• The Italian word for petrol is benzina or diesel for diesel.
• Although Italy has a good network of motorways, we recommend taking
the country roads which are more scenic and offer a unique experience.
• A good map is essential! We recommend purchasing a good Michelin or
Collins road atlas before you depart New Zealand.
• Speed limits are kilometres per hour.
• International Driving Permits are compulsory or a valid translation into
Italian of your New Zealand driver’s licence is also acceptable (must be
from an accredited translator). You can obtain a driving permit from any
AA in New Zealand.
• If you find you have a flat tyre, we recommend you keep driving to the
nearest petrol station where possible and only let someone in uniform
(station staff) assist you.
• Always ensure you lock your vehicle even when driving.
• Parking in main cities can be a problem so always allow plenty of time.
tuscan delights
8 days / 7 nights from Rome
Tuscany has so much to offer, that a driving tour should be taken slowly in order to fully absorb the exceptional atmosphere
Verona
this region is renowned for. Beautiful cypresses, undulating valleys, magnificent medieval villages Venice appearing suddenly on top of
a hill, beautifully kept vineyards, olive trees everywhere; this is Tuscany and to appreciate its wonderful scenery, lovely country
roads should be taken in preference to motorways.
tuscan delights
Day 1: Rome – Siena (Distance 226kms)
From Rome you will drive through Lazio, the area around Rome with its
volcanic hills, lakes and great plains dotted with historic ruins. Siena, has a lot
to offer and you should begin your visit by exploring the medieval city and the
Piazza del Campo (the main square). Test your energy and go to the top of the
Torre del Maggia, a famous tower providing a fantastic view of the surrounding
area. The Pinacoteca Nazionale is not to be missed and is located in a 14th
century Palazzo.
Overnight: Hotel Italia, Siena.
Day 2: Siena – Pisa (Distance 110kms)
Now in the heart of Tuscany, take your time and drive leisurely to fully absorb
the beauty of the countryside. We suggest a side trip to San Gimignano, a few
kilometers away, to admire its unique series of Towers dating back to the 13th
century. Pisa, famous for its leaning tower, is a bit more than that! The area
around the Tower is called the Campo dei Miracoli and includes the Duomo,
the Battistero and the Camposante (Burial ground).
Overnight: Duomo, Pisa.
Day 3: Pisa – Lucca (Distance 22kms)
Lucca has preserved a charming atmosphere and is not touched at all by
modernism. Not to be missed are the Saint Martin Cathedral and its Duomo,
the Chiesa di San Michele in Foro, a church dating back to the 12th century,
the Pinacoteca and its 17th century paintings. A walk through this beautiful
town full of palaces, churches, squares and medieval streets is a unique
experience in itself and a night here will enable you to fully absorb this
enchanting atmosphere.
Overnight: La Corte Dei Folleti, Lucca.
Day 4 & 5: Lucca – Florence (Distance 74kms)
A short drive through Tuscany, we suggest a stop on the way at Montecatini
Terme, a very elegant spa resort famous for centuries for its medicinal
properties. This will provide a relaxing lunch stop before the hustle and
bustle of Florence. Florence is a very elegant town and the intense light of
the area gives a very specific feel which has attracted many artists over the
years. It is a city of Arts. The main attractions are the Piazza del Duomo with
its cathedral, Campanile and the Baptistery. You must see the Piazza della
Signoria, which is an open air museum with several statues, the Palazzo
Vecchio and the not to be missed Galleria degli Uffizi, a fantastic museum
housing works collected over centuries.
Overnight: Fenice Palace, Florence.
Day 6: Florence – Arezzo (Distance 81kms)
Drive through a very fertile area of fruit trees and vines to the birthplace of
famous artists such as the Benedictine Monk Guido d’Arezzo and the poet
Petrarch as well as the painter Giorgio Vasari.
Overnight: Etrusco Arezzo Hotel, Arezzo
Cinque Terre
Lucca
Pisa
Florence
Siena
San Marino
Arezzo
Montepulciano
ITALY
ROME
Day 7: Arezzo – Montepulciano (Distance 52kms)
You will see more and more vineyards as you get closer to Montepulciano, an
important wine producing area – Vino Nobile – a delicious red wine which is
a must to try. We suggest a short detour to Pienza, a lovely little town which
can be visited in a few hours with a main street full of small shops offering the
local specialty: Pecorino cheese, a variety of Parmesan with a similar taste
and texture as well as a good assortment of smoked meats and hams. The
Italian VILLAS
We offer a wonderful selection of self-contained villas, historic farmhouses, medieval castles and apartments throughout
Tuscany as well as Chianti, Umbria, Lazio, Sardinia and the Amalfi Coast and more. Explore areas rich in history and
gastronomy, and sample local products such as the world renowned olive oil and wine.
WHY BOOK A VILLA?
The beauty of a villa holiday is having the
opportunity to immerse yourself in the local way
of life and soak up the atmosphere of your chosen
region from a comfortable and homely base. Villas
are also great for travelling with a group of friends.
With a villa stay, you have the freedom to do as
much or as little as you please.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR VILLA
The first step is to decide which region you’d like
to visit, then how many people you’ll be travelling
with. The facilities and style of each villa can
vary, although all are self-contained, so it is also
important to think about what you want from your
villa. For example, do you wish to have a property
with a pool?
WHERE TO GO
Italy is a land of contrasts and history – We can
offer you villa and apartment stays in Italy’s most
beautiful holiday destinations. These include
Tuscany, Umbria, Chianti, Florence, Venice, the
Amalfi Coast, Capri, Sicily and the Northern Lakes
District, to name a few.
Tuscany Without a doubt one of Italy’s best
known holiday destinations. Tuscany is renowned
for its olive oil, vineyards, rolling hills and
picturesque villages and towns.
Umbria This is the green heart of Italy, dotted with
ancient monasteries and beautifully preserved
hamlets.
Amalfi Coast Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea,
the Amalfi Coast area is a stunning holiday spot.
Northern Lakes Nestled in the hills of northern
Italy, steeped in history, are Lake Garda and
Lake Maggiore.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
requested dates, a deposit must be paid, plus a
booking fee, with full payment due at least 42 days
prior to arrival. We recommend travel insurance.
• Extra charges such as heating, final cleaning
and security deposits may apply, and are payable
direct to the property (credit cards not accepted).
Please ask your Travel Agent for details of these
prior to booking, as they do vary by property.
• Arrival time is between 5pm and 8pm. Departure
time is between 8am and 10am.
• Villas and apartments are unserviced, unless
otherwise specified.
drive spain
Spain has four official languages, two major cities of almost equal importance and a greater range of landscapes than any
other European country. These remarkable contrasts make Spain an endlessly fascinating country to visit. The climate and
landscape vary from snow-capped peaks in the Pyrenees, through to the green meadows of Galicia and the orange groves in
the east. The only way to truly explore this amazing country is to include it in your self-drive holiday.
DRIVING Tips
Bilbao
FRANCE
• Drive on the right hand side (vehicles are left hand drive).
• The Spanish word for petrol is gasoline or diesel for diesel.
PORTUGAL
Barcelona
• A good map is essential! We recommend purchasing a good Michelin or
Collins road atlas before you depart New Zealand.
• Smaller minor roads are generally less well kept but are often a more
leisurely and enjoyable way to see the rural areas of Spain.
MADRID
SPAIN
Valencia
• Speed limits are kilometres per hour.
• It is recommended to obtain an International Driving permit however it
is not essential if travelling with a New Zealand Driver’s Licence. Driving
permits can be obtained from your local AA.
• Radar traps are frequent. Speeding results in an instant fine – payable on
the spot.
Booking Conditions
1 Our Services and Obligations
1.1 The services within this brochure are supplied by wholesaler
GO Holidays, a division of Stella Travel Services NZ. They
consist of arranging and co-ordinating travel, entertainment
and accommodation facilities and services, and making
bookings, issuing tickets and issuing vouchers to be
redeemed by suppliers.
1.2 We undertake to perform these services with reasonable care
and skill. We will not be liable for any loss or damage or loss
of enjoyment which results from the act, default or omission
of any person other than ourselves, our employees or agents,
or any cause independent of human control. This includes
(but is not limited to), loss, damage or loss of enjoyment
which arises directly or indirectly from any act of God,
weather disruptions, dangers incidental to the sea, fire,
breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of Governments
or other authorities, whether legitimate or not, wars whether
declared or not, hostilities, acts of terrorism, civil
disturbances, strikes, lockouts, riots, deaths, pilferage,
epidemics, quarantines or medical or customs regulations.
1.3 We are not able to exercise control over services we do not
supply directly, therefore we will not be responsible for any
loss or damage arising from:
• Any booking made directly with a service supplier by your
travel agent or by yourself direct; or
• Any services which are not provided by us and which are
additional to those described in this brochure.
1.4 We will endeavour to provide the most suitable travel
arrangements to meet the particular requirements you make
known to us. However, travel is an individual experience, and
your preferences and opinions may vary from our own. For
this reason, we cannot take responsibility for your individual
satisfaction, neither can we take responsibility for weather nor
for compatibility of fellow guests or staff during
the course of your travel.
2 Supply of Travel, Entertainment, Vehicle Rental &
Accommodation Services and Facilities
2.1 When we make bookings with the suppliers of travel,
entertainment, activities, vehicle rental and accommodation
facilities or services (“the Suppliers”) we are acting as a
booking agent for the Suppliers.
2.2 All travel, entertainment, vehicle rental, activities, and
accommodation facilities or services are supplied directly to
you by the Suppliers. We have no control over the facilities or
services themselves, or the manner in which they are
provided by the Suppliers. Therefore you should be aware of
the following conditions:
• We will not be liable for any loss or damage of any kind
which may arise from your use or consumption of, or
inability to use or consume those facilities or services.
• The provision of those facilities or services is subject to the
terms and conditions of your contract with each Supplier.
• Where for any reason, a Supplier is unable to provide
particular facilities or services, then that Supplier may be
entitled, under its contract with you to substitute those
services or facilities with comparable or equivalent facilities
or services without incurring any liability to you. You should
check your contract with each Supplier.
• All facilities or services described by us are subject to
availability from the Supplier.
• We will not be liable or responsible for any loss or
damage relating to your baggage, personal possessions,
health or welfare, or delays or travel disruptions unless
these arise directly from the service we provide to you.
3 Business Purposes
You agree that where our services are acquired for business
purposes, or where you hold yourself out as acquiring our
services for business purposes, the Consumer Guarantees
Act 1993 will not apply to any supply of goods or services
made under these conditions, and we will not be liable or
responsible for any loss or damage of any kind to you,
including any consequential loss or damage however it may
be caused.
4 Information in the Brochure
4.1 This brochure was published on 23 Nov 12 and is valid for
services used from 01 Apr 2013 – 31 Mar 2014 unless
otherwise stated. Prices are subject to currency fluctuations.
4.2 While we have exercised reasonable care and skill to ensure
that the contents of this brochure are correct, accurate, and
up-to-date at the time of publishing, please note that the
contents of this brochure are based on information supplied
to us by the Suppliers. We do not have, and cannot be
reasonably expected to have, personal knowledge about all
the facilities or services provided by each Supplier.
4.3 Facilities or services may change after the date of
publication. We endeavour to keep travel agents informed of
any changes to information in this brochure which are brought
to our attention. Prior to booking your ticket, you should ask
your travel agents about any changes to the published
information of which your agent may be aware. You should
also make sure that if your travel agent is advised of changes
which occur after booking, your travel
agent is able to contact you.
4.4 All maps, illustrations and photographs are for indicative
purposes only and may not necessarily reflect actual places
or positioning.
5 Prices
5.1 All prices shown in this brochure are on a per person basis
unless otherwise stated and are expressed in New Zealand
dollars. Vehicle rates are per vehicle.
5.2 Events beyond our control, such as currency fluctuations,
changes to the price of aviation fuel or changes to the cost of
services and facilities may result in the prices charged to you
being different. You should check all prices with your travel
agent before making reservations, and before ticketing.
5.3 Prices may also be liable to variation between the time of
booking and departure. We reserve the right to vary the price
up until the time of your departure.
5.4 All prices exclude travel agent service fees.
6 Payment
6.1 A deposit will only be required in some circumstances.
This will be advised to your travel agent on confirmation /
invoice. Deposits are usually only required when booking
Canal boats, Motorhomes, Apartments, Villas and Cottages.
6.2 A communication charge / late booking fee may be applied to
reservations which require urgent confirmation, or if
documentation must be faxed and/or sent from our office to
somewhere other than your travel agent.
6.3 Final payment must be made at least 14 days prior to
departure for Avis rental cars, and up to 8 weeks prior to
departure for some other products. Please ask your travel
agent to check payment deadlines when your reservation is
confirmed.
7 Amendment or Cancellation
7.1 If you wish or circumstances require you to amend or cancel
your booking for any reason, you should advise us in writing
through your travel agent at the earliest possible time.
7.2 Where you amend any booking a fee of up to $30 per
amendment will apply. Where you cancel a booking you will
have to pay a fee. A cancellation fee of up to $150 per
booking may be imposed by GO Holidays. If documents have
not been issued, this fee may be reduced.
7.3 The above amendment and cancellation fees are required to
offset booking, communication and administration charges
which will have already been incurred by us. In addition to our
amendment and cancellation fees, you may also be required
to pay amendment and cancellation fees imposed by our
Suppliers (i.e. vehicle hire companies, hotels, etc.)
The amount of each Supplier’s fees is beyond our control,
and payment is solely your responsibility. You should check
with your travel agent concerning the amount of any
Supplier’s amendment and cancellation fees.
7.4 Some Suppliers may reserve the right to cancel or amend
travel, accommodation, etc and GO Holidays must therefore
reserve similar rights to cancel or amend any holiday
arrangements.
8 Insurance
We strongly recommend that as a minimum you insure
yourself fully against cancellation, disruption, loss of luggage
and personal property, and medical expenses. Your travel
agent will be able to provide you with further information.
9 Lost or Destroyed vouchers
Often lost or destroyed vouchers cannot be replaced or
refunded for any accommodation plans, rail, vehicle hire,
theatre, special events and sightseeing tours.
10 Items Not Covered
Unless otherwise specified, the cost of meals, drinks,
laundry, telephone calls, insurance, sightseeing tours, local
taxes, airport departure taxes, aviation and insurance levies
and passport or visa application fees are not included.
11 Visas / Passports
For all holidays in this brochure you will require a
valid passport. You are responsible for arranging your
own passport, visa and health requirements (including
inoculation where applicable). You should check with
your travel agent who will be able to provide you with the
necessary information.
12 Non-Use of Services or Facilities
If, of your own choice, you decide not to use part or
parts of the arranged services or facilities, you will not be
entitled to a refund from us (provided we have carried out our
service with reasonable skill and care and to your
requirements) and you may not be entitled to a refund from
any Supplier.
13 GO Holidays Charter for Addressing Problems
In the event that you should strike a problem or you are
dissatisfied with some aspect of the services or facilities
during the course of your trip, our recommendation is that
you take the matter up directly with the supplier of the service
at the time, or as soon as practicable in the circumstances.
This provides the opportunity to have the matter discussed
and investigated on the spot and a remedy negotiated then
and there to enable you to continue enjoying your holiday. We
have found from experience that it is very difficult (in some
countries impossible) for us to obtain redress for you once
travel has been completed. If this does not work, we wish to
be involved at the earliest possible moment and our
commitment is that we will immediately work on resolving the
issue to your satisfaction.
14 Health or Disability
Some Suppliers may reserve the right to refuse to carry or
accommodate people who because of a health condition or
disability may require services or facilities to be provided in a
special manner. You should check this with your travel agent.
15 Legal Claims
Any claims or legal action in connection with the provision of
our services to you will be governed by the laws of New
Zealand. Any claim or legal action against the Suppliers is
likely to be subject to the terms of your contract with them,
and may be governed by the laws of other countries.
16 Extra Hotel Nights or Car Rental Days
The prices in this brochure are available only when booked
and paid for in advance of your departure from New Zealand.
Should you wish to obtain extra accommodation or additional
car rental days when abroad, the cost will be at the normal
published prices and cannot be booked through us.
17 Driver Age
Minimum age requirements for hiring a rental car throughout
Europe vary. Please check with GO Holidays if you are under
25 years. The minimum age on the Peugeot Open Europe
programme is 18 years. For other vehicle suppliers, please
check with GO Holidays.
18 Driver Qualifications
All drivers are required to produce a current non-provisional
drivers licence valid in their country of permanent residence.
The licence must have been held for at least one year. In
some countries an International Driving Permit is also
required.
19 Car Rental Periods
Car rental days are calculated on 24 hour periods, i.e. Mon
0800 – Tue 0800 is 1 day. Peugeot EuroLease days are
calculated on calendar days, i.e. Mon 0800 – Tue 0800 is 2
days. Please check with GO Holidays as to how other
suppliers calculate their rental days.
Please Read These
Conditions Carefully
The guarantees under the Consumer
Guarantees Act will apply to services
supplied by us except where they are
acquired, or are held out as being
acquired for business purposes.
