Sample Collection 17-19

Stained or unstained slides or formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded blocks containing histologically

confirmed GIST tissue are generally accepted. Larger amounts of sample tissue are preferred. It’s

important to discuss specific requirements with the local pathologist or to contact the lab conducting

the mutational testing directly to verify the appropriate specimen-collection techniques.
