Description<br />
<strong>USB</strong> is intended to be a user friendly, hot plug-and-play bus for desktop applications. With the growing popularity and<br />
wide public acceptance for this protocol, <strong>USB</strong> has recently become the standard connection in the PC environment.<br />
Devices such as data acquisition, serial, parallel, Ethernet, etc., can now be connected to <strong>USB</strong> through bridges. These<br />
bridges extend the desktop into environments not originally foreseen for <strong>USB</strong> applications. But, the added cable length<br />
and environments typical to these devices introduce conventional problems such as ground loops, spikes, and surges,<br />
which can damage the devices as well as the PC. For protection from these scenarios in commercial or industrial<br />
applications, and to increase system reliability in any harsh environment, optical isolation is strongly recommended.<br />
<strong>UISOHUB4</strong> does exactly that. It is a four-port <strong>USB</strong> hub with optical isolation between the upstream port and all the<br />
downstream ports. Both high and low speed <strong>USB</strong> peripherals are supported as well as high-powered and low-powered<br />
devices. This unique hub offers all the benefits of the <strong>USB</strong> technology with added safety and protection for your PC.<br />
The attached 1m <strong>USB</strong> cable on the upstream port is ready to connect to your PC or another hub. An external power<br />
supply is required, but not included.<br />

Note on Use<br />
This device may be susceptible to EFT (Electrical Fast Transient), especially around noisy and high power devices and machineries.<br />
Under normal environments, EFT should be no problem. However, in the event that it is, a simple reset procedure can be follow. To<br />
reset the unit, remove power and then apply power again.<br />
