Ontario Camping Association

and High Five accredited.

• A one-week family pass to any YMCA Health, Fitness

and Recreation Centre in the GTA for each camper

• Contact Centre service from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday

to Friday

• Extended Day Camp (EDC) hours before and after regular

camp with healthy snacks, refreshments and activities

• Family night and barbeque

• Highly trained staff

YMCA SUMMER CAMPS

Aquatics Day Camp (two weeks)

Ages 6 to 12 years

Earn your swim level! Aquatics campers participate in

the YMCA Learn to Swim program, which introduces

a series of easy-to-learn swimming skills in a

values-based environment. There is a one-hour

swim lesson and an hour of recreational swim time

daily. Campers also take part in other activities

such as sports, arts, and traditional camp games

and songs.

Arts Day Camp

Ages 8 to 12 years

Campers spend three hours daily exploring different

artistic mediums such as drawing, painting, sculpting

and photography. Campers also participate in

traditional day camp activities such as swimming,

crafts and games.

Basketball Day Camp

Ages 6 to 12 years

Basketball campers spend three hours daily on games,

drills and scrimmages to improve shooting, dribbling,

passing and defense skills. Campers also participate

in traditional day camp activities such as swimming,

crafts and games.

Creative Arts, Dance and

Drama Day Camp

Ages 6 to 12 years

Be creative, get down and shine! Campers express

themselves artistically in visual and performing arts

with activities such as acting, singing, dancing, crafts,

painting, drawing and costume/set design. Parents are

invited to watch the weekly showcase! Campers also

participate in traditional day camp activities such as

swimming and games.


Day Trip Camp

Ages 9 to 12 years

Grab your backpack — we’re going on a trip! Campers

participate in traditional camp activities complemented

by a day trip on Tuesday and an overnight camp

experience at YMCA Cedar Glen every Wednesday

to Thursday. (Wednesday supper, Thursday breakfast

and lunch included.) Weekly day trip adventures

will be:

Day Camp

Ages 6 to 12 years

Each day campers participate in hands-on

environmental science experiments and activities that

are both fun and educational. Campers also take part

in traditional day camp activities such as swimming,

crafts and games.

Girls in Action Day Camp

Ages 10 to 12 years

Designed for “tweens,” this camp is all about girls!

Campers learn more about themselves, gain

confidence, set personal challenges and make new

friends while participating in sports and games with

other girls. Campers also participate in interactive

sessions on healthy body image, self-esteem, healthy

eating, and the benefits of physical activity and

healthy friendships.

Golf Day Camp

9 to 12 years

Children get in the swing with a three-hour golf lesson

every day at Meadowbrook Golf and Country Club.

Campers learn the basics of golf, visit the driving

range and short course. Campers also participate in

traditional day camp activities such as swimming,

crafts and games.

Outdoor Adventure Day Camp

Ages 6 to 12 years

Campers enjoy outdoor activities while acquiring new

skills and building confidence. Activities include hikes,

orienteering, geocaching, archery, canoeing (where

available) and traditional camp activities.

Outdoor Adventure Day Camp –

Advanced

Ages 6 to 12 years

Campers participate in a structured and skills-based

outdoor activity every day for three hours. Campers

also take part in hikes, orienteering, geocaching,

archery, canoeing, outdoor living skills and traditional

camp activities.

Soccer Day Camp

Ages 6 to 12 years

Soccer campers will have a three-hour daily lesson

on developing kicking, passing, shooting, trapping,

throwing and sportsmanlike skills through drills and

scrimmages. Campers also participate in traditional day

camp activities such as swimming, crafts and games.

Variety Day Camp

Ages 5 to 12 years

Campers enjoy an action-packed week of traditional

day camp activities including swimming, games, songs,

sports, crafts, hiking/walks and theme days.

Variety Sports Day Camp

Ages 6 to 12 years

Designed for sports enthusiasts! Sports campers will

participate in a variety of activities such as soccer,

volleyball, softball, golf, hockey and games depending

on which location campers choose. Staff focus on

participation, skill development, fair play, fitness and

team spirit. Sports campers also take part in traditional

day camp activities such as swimming, crafts and games.

Volleyball Day Camp

Ages 9 to 12 years

Volleyball campers will have a three-hour daily lesson

dedicated to developing spiking, serving, hitting,

blocking and game format. Campers also participate

in traditional day camp activities such as swimming,

crafts and games.

Youth Leadership Day Camp

(two weeks) Ages 13 to 15 years

Get your community hours at camp! Youth Leadership

is a two-week camp that includes traditional camp

activities such as swimming, sports and games. It

features teambuilding and leadership development

activities, volunteer opportunities, fundraising, event

planning, counsellor-in-training lessons and an

overnight at YMCA Cedar Glen. Youth campers also

have the opportunity to participate in courses such

as first aid, CPR, coaching, youth fitness and healthy

child development.

YMCA Bruce’s Mill

Bruce’s Mill Conservation Area is in Stouffville and takes its name from the

water-powered mill on the property. Situated on a tributary of the Rouge River, Bruce’s

Mill offers forests, fields and streams for campers to explore.

YMCA Cedar Glen

Perched high on a hilltop above a rolling valley, YMCA Cedar Glen has 263 acres of

trails, forests and streams for campers to explore. YMCA Cedar Glen is located on the

11 th Concession off King Road between Nobelton and Bolton.

Toronto Island is a short ferry trip from the city. The island is covered with small

forests, fields and water inlets, and surrounded by beaches and rocky places.
