island-hop and take in all the sights<br />
A trip out to the islands in the archipelago offers a wealth of experiences<br />
with its beautiful scenery and a number of interesting museums.<br />
Start at Seffer’s 18 th Century Farmstead, with its authentically preserved<br />
interior and exterior in lovely Vårdö.<br />
Take the archipelago ferry from Hummelvik in Vårdö to the districts<br />
of Kumlinge and Brändö. The ferries are free for people with bicycles<br />
but there is a charge for other forms of transport. Remember to call and<br />
book in advance: tel. 25 155.<br />
Sights to enjoy along the way include Enklinge Island with Hermas<br />
Farmstead museum, a traditional archipelago home dating from the<br />
16 th Century and the Archipelago Museum in Lappo which focuses on<br />
Åland’s archipelago and fishing culture.<br />
