2117 INTRODUCTION TO VOLUNTEER EMERGENCY SERVICES MANAGEMENT<br />

This course demonstrates the basic management techniques needed to effectively administer a volunteer<br />

emergency service organization. Participants will explore the transition from firefighting into management.<br />

Students will learn and apply basic principles of communication, motivation, problem solving, decision making,<br />

and the management process to accomplish agency missions and goals.<br />

Fee: $25, Training in-house $5<br />

2118 PREPARATION FOR INITIAL COMPANY OPERATIONS<br />

This course is designed to develop a better understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Company Officer<br />

in preparing his/her company for incident operations. In addition, it will clarify the transition from firefighter<br />

to company officer and the new roles relating to leadership and safety. This course is designed for<br />

company officers, acting company officers, or senior firefighters responsible for the management of a single<br />

engine company fire at an emergency scene.<br />

Students: Min: 12 Max: 30<br />

Fee: $5 grant fee: $750/class<br />

2119 STRATEGY AND TACTICS FOR INITIAL COMPANY OPERATIONS<br />

This course is designed to meet the needs of Company Officers responsible for managing the operations of<br />

one or more companies during structural firefighting operations. This course is also designed to develop the<br />

management skills needed by company officers to accomplish assigned tactics at structure fires.<br />

Prerequisite: None<br />

Hours: 16<br />

Students: Min: 12 Max: 30<br />

Fee: $5 grant fee: $750/class<br />
