A WORLD OF OPPORTUNITIES

Welcome to Farnborough

International Airshow 2010

Dear Colleague

Farnborough International Airshow 2008 was a great success and one of our largest

exhibitions to date, resulting in the announcement of a phenomenal US$89 billion in

placed orders. We are delighted that, show-on-show, we continue to go from strength to

strength and look forward to extending a warm welcome to colleagues, old and new, in July

2010. We also, however, recognise that the needs of our exhibitors and visitors grow and evolve

and so we strive to ensure that the Farnborough International Airshow maintains its market

leading status.

After the 2008 Exhibition, Farnborough International Limited commissioned an independent

research project, which involved a broad cross section of exhibitors. We are grateful to those

companies who participated in the project. The findings of this research were extremely

encouraging and have reinforced the importance of several core show features which we will

be working hard to further develop for 2010 and beyond.

The five trade days of the exhibition will carry daily ‘themes’ and a conference and events

programme, including ‘Meet Your Buyer’ sessions, will be introduced to maximise strategic

benefit and networking opportunity. Traffic planning, improved signage and access and

ticketing are all areas that were highlighted to us after the last event and we have plans in hand

to ensure we deliver an enhanced customer experience for our exhibitors and visitors.

We recognise that, in the current economic climate, you will be carefully considering all your

options and, mindful of this, we have reduced the price of Exhibitor passes by 27% and service

ID passes by 15%. Shell scheme stands will remain at the 2008 rate and we are negotiating

with our Official Contractors so that, where possible, we can secure reductions in associated

exhibition costs.

As ever, the Farnborough International Team are always on hand to discuss any aspect of your

exhibition participation and we look forward to meeting with many of you over the next twelve

months.

Exhibiting Options

Whether you are a small business looking

for a cost effective way to participate or

a larger company looking to create an

impact, Farnborough International Airshow has

an option to suit you.

Indoor Exhibition

Four large air conditioned halls house the

indoor exhibition. They are constructed in the

latest clear-span design to provide maximum

freedom and flexibility to display products and

services to their optimum.

Self Build Stands

For organisations who require the flexibility to

create a bespoke stand, self build stand space

is available in the central areas of each hall.

With a minimum size of 48 sq m, including a

carpeted platform, there are options for island

stands or those with two or three open sides,

dependent on finalised floor layouts.

Self Build Perimeter Stands

There are also opportunities for companies

who would like to create a smaller custom-built

stand. The Self Build Perimeter Stands are

located in similar sites to the Shell Schemes in

units of 3m x 5m or multiples thereof and can

be supplied with a carpeted platform.

Outdoor Exhibition

Outdoor sites are ideal to showcase larger

exhibits that cannot be accommodated in the

halls or for exhibitors wishing to have their own

external feature area.

Open Area for Exhibits

Outdoor ground space, available from a minimum

of 15 sq m, is ideal for displaying large or heavy

exhibits such as radar systems, unmanned aerial

vehicles, ground equipment etc.

Shell Scheme Stands

This is an extremely popular option with first

time exhibitors or for companies who do not

require a large exhibiting space. Shell schemes

are fully constructed stands located around

the perimeter of each hall. Units are 3m x 5m

or multiples thereof and are supplied with full

stand construction, carpeted platform, three

spotlights, two twin power sockets, name

sign and a daily cleaning service. Whilst

amendments to the shell scheme structure

are not permitted, exhibitors can erect pop-up

stands within the structure.

Area for Exhibitor Supplied Buildings

Outdoor ground space is also available for the

construction of bespoke exhibition buildings,

both single and double storey.

Group Participation/National

Pavilions

With 29 pavilions representing national and

international groups, there are opportunities

to participate within a group stand. For further

information contact can be made with the

relevant trade association or government

body within your own country or contact the

Organisers for details.

Exhibiting Options

Business Chalets

Business chalets offer exhibitors the flexibility

to provide their clients with traditional

corporate hospitality or to conduct meetings

in a more private setting. All chalets offer the

added benefit of a view of the flying and static

aircraft display.

The chalets are constructed from the same

clearspan structure as the exhibition halls with

the addition of a glazed frontage and private

balcony area.

Business Aircraft Park

The Farnborough International Airshow

‘Business Aircraft Park’ (BAP) is an area

devoted to Business Aircraft manufacturers,

their products and services. Having

successfully established itself over the past six

years, the BAP has become an essential 3 day

event at the airshow and will run from Monday

19 through to Wednesday 21 July 2010.

Flying Display

The daily flying display is a fundamental part

of the exhibition. The display showcases the

most advanced aircraft in both commercial and

military design.

Consistent with Farnborough International

Airshow’s business role, the flying display takes

place during the afternoon, leaving the morning

and lunch period free for business activity. The

well-structured display provides a valuable

presentation in which you can demonstrate the

capabilities of your product, enhanced by an

illustrative commentary broadcast across the

exhibition site.

• Exhibiting Options

Located within the main aircraft display area,

the BAP is easily accessible from the centre

of the main exhibition and will continue to

accommodate requests for demonstration

flights to potential and existing customers.

Chalet Row J is located within yards of the

static aircraft display area, affording exhibitors

the ability to view their aircraft in close

proximity to their chalets.

All private business chalets offer a superb view

of the static aircraft and flying displays.

Static Aircraft Displays

The natural amphitheatre of the Farnborough

Aerodrome allows aircraft to be exhibited to

maximum effect in the extensive static aircraft

park. Running in parallel to the exhibition, the

static display gives visitors the opportunity to

view the aircraft close up.

Aircraft participating in the flying display can

be shown to visitors prior to flying or based on

the north side of the aerodrome and visited

under arrangements put in place by the

Organisers.

Customer Demonstration Flights

To enable aircraft exhibitors to provide

potential customers with the opportunity to

appreciate the qualities of their product in the

air, it is possible for them to arrange customer

demonstration flights.

Customer demonstration flights by fixed-wing

aircraft can be arranged on trade days, Monday

to Friday, but not during the period of the flying

display.

Customer demonstration flights by helicopters

are operated from the Heliport. These flights can

take place during the opening hours of the show,

including most times during the flying display.

Exhibitors’ Services

How to Apply

As a well established aviation business event, the Farnborough International Airshow is extremely

popular and, as such, exhibition space sells fast. Space is allocated on a first come, first served

basis. In order to avoid disappointment, you are advised to submit your application for space as

early as possible.

The easiest way to apply for space is on-line. Log onto www.farnborough.com to register and

submit your application. Alternatively, please complete the enclosed application form. A copy of

the form, along with the Exhibition Regulations, section A-D, can be found on the attached CD-Rom.

The closing date for applications is 14 September 2009 when all submissions should be complete

and deposit payments made. We will, however, accept applications after this date, space

permitting.

Details of allocated space will be released in January 2010.
