To Install the Agent and Console
You need to install the agent on every Windows NT or 2000 server whose storage
you want Sun StorEdge Configuration Service to manage.
Note – Make sure Java runtime environment 1.2 software or later is installed on the
computer or workstation on which you are installing the console.
1. To make sure the software installation utility functions optimally, close all open
Windows applications.
2. Insert the Sun StorEdge 3000 Family Professional Storage Manager CD and
change to the \product\windows directory.
3. Double-click setup.exe and select the software component to install, SUNWsscs
Agent or SUNWsscs Console.
4. On the Choose Destination Location window, install the default folder and click
Next. The agent is installed in C:\Program Files\Sun\ssagent; the console is
installed in C:\Program Files\Sun\sscs.
To install to a different folder, click Browse, select another folder, and click Next.
After the installation is complete, the agents start automatically.

To Start or Stop the Agent on Windows NT
Servers
To start the agent on the server, you must either reboot the server or start the three
Sun StorEdge Configuration Service services: SUNWscsd Startup, SUNWscsd Server,
and SUNWscsd Monitor under Settings → Control Panel → Services.
To stop the agent, go to Settings → Control Panel → Services, select the agent you
want to stop, and click Stop.
