Firstly, I wish to thank those retailers that I have already met who have welcomed me and shared your thoughts and ideas. Your feedback is invaluable to me and as explained below, I am looking forward to speaking to everyone over the coming months. I am passionate about town centre development, place making, and the development of thriving, connected and supportive cities and communities. At the heart of this is our town centres and high streets, which I am pleased to see are back in the headlines. Businesses and town centres alike are facing significant challenges, and more than ever we need a clear vision of our future direction and strategy, and to place the customer at the centre of decision making. Central to my role is the delivery of the Business Plan – delivering marketing and events aimed at attracting people to our ‘Regency Shopping Paradise’ as one retailer recently described it. Adding to this, with a background in town planning and economic development, I will also be working with various stakeholders to enhance the health of the town centre. I also hope to work with you to develop and share ideas to enhance the retail experience on offer. “I am passionate about town centre development, place making, and the development of thriving, connected and supportive cities and communities.” I am aware that building a vibrant, prosperous and exciting town centre requires that we all contribute. With this in mind I believe that as a business community we have much to offer each other. In order to facilitate this I will be hosting more open meetings with guest speakers, and you will see a ‘business toolbox’ pop up in the newsletter and on the website filled with a mix of tools, inspiring ideas and insights. I would also like to encourage you to share your ideas with me so I can pass them on. Thank you for your support and feedback and I look forward to working with you in the near future. In the meantime please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to meet, or have feedback or ideas to discuss. Stephanie Kerr Executive Director – BID Leamington Updates, Notices and Shouts!
