ATHLEticS
athletic department
IN ATHLETICS: Before setting foot onto the
playing field, student-athletes are put through
rigorous training and conditioning, getting them
into shape for competition at the highest level.
Practices not only focus on technique and strategy,
but also the overall compatibility and chemistry
of the team. During competition, the team is
challenged to do their best, relying on the skills
that each team member brings to the field to lead
the team to a win. Student-athletes understand
that they not only represent Cincinnati Christian
University, but also the Lord as they play.
THROUGHOUT CAMPUS: Every student-athlete
on CCU’s campus understands that they are
not only athletes, but leaders. In the classroom,
they are committed to excellence, giving their
studies their all. In the 2012-2013 season, several
CCU student-athletes won not only athletic, but
academic honors, including eight NAIA Scholar
Athlete Awards. Student-athletes are not only
encouraged but required to be a part of student
activities on campus, building relationships
among the entire student body, not just their
individual teams. Spiritual development and
Christian service are also highly emphasized, with
participation at the individual and team level.
The goal of the
at Cincinnati Christian University
can be summed up in one word:
EXCELLENCE.
“
FOR THE FUTURE: Student-athletes are not only
prepared for their current season, but coaches and
athletic staff build into the students to provide
them with skills they can use in the future, both
in their careers and in life. Athletics provide an
opportunity to build lasting relationships and
develop skills that have a long-term benefit.
Student-athletes are also encouraged to remain
involved with CCU and the Athletic Department
after graduation. Alumni are a valuable resource
to CCU students, providing them with their
experience in applying the knowledge gained at
CCU.
The Athletic Department at CCU is not content to
remain in its current state for the long term. In the
2013-2014 academic year, CCU will add Women’s
Basketball and Men’s Volleyball to the lineup,
increasing the offerings to nine individual sports.
Additional sports are under consideration for
the future. Our Athletic leaders understand that
to remain excellent, they will have to challenge
themselves to continually grow, not only in
programs, but in the quality of play. Settling for
“good enough” is not an option.
welcome joshua Snyder
A 1996 graduate of CCU returns to Cincinnati Christian
University to serve as the Athletic Director as well as the Head
Women’s Basketball Coach.
Joshua says, “I am most excited about pouring into my coaches,
giving them what experience I have had and helping them
to maximize their abilities so they can in turn pour into their
athletes.”
The Athletic Department opened the new weight room
facility this spring for student-athlete training and
rehabilitation.
This room was funded through generous donations to
the Golden Eagle Club, a newly established Athletics
booster. For more information about the Golden Eagle
Club, please visit www.CCUathletics.com and look
