Preview of Girls’ Varsity Basketball Season
The girls’ varsity basketball team is coming off the
most successful season in team history. The girls
finished 27-6, and 10-0 in the Liberty League, capturing
their 3 rd straight Championship. In the playoffs the
team advanced to CIF Semi-Finals and to the State
Regional Semi-Finals for the first time.
The 2012-2013 season looks just as promising. The
Pioneers return 6 of their top 7 players, including Senior
Bea Benedicto, last year’s Liberty League co-player of
the year and All CIF selection. Bea, along with her 3
senior teammates, Janel Adraneda, Estelle Glorioso
and Nicole Mungues look to capture their 4th straight
Liberty League title. Sophomore Katia Dabbaghian
returns to run the point after an All Liberty League and
All CIF season last year.
The squad is competing in the Burroughs Tournament
this year and will travel to San Diego after winning the
Tri-City Christian tournament last year.
