Letter from the President
Dear friends of Trinity Catholic High School:
On August 15, 2011, Trinity Catholic High School began its 12 th year of
providing a strong Catholic, Edmund Rice Christian Brothers education to
the children of Marion County and other surrounding counties. Ours is a
heritage and a tradition that is very rich indeed. We have much to be proud
about throughout our short history, since our history is quickly becoming a
very rich one indeed. .
With the economy being severely affected in our area, our enrollment,
although slightly down, has been able to hold its own. We know, that the
quality of education and the care provided by our teachers and staff,
continues to attract an enthusiastic student body
Trinity Catholic High School continues to excel as it has done for the past 11
years. This past year, TCHS won two State Championships. Our second
State Football Championship in our short history, while Quincy Hoppel ’11
won a State Championship in his weight class in Wrestling. Four of our
teams went on to Regional Finals; both the boys’ and girls’ Soccer teams as
well as the girls’ Volleyball and Softball teams. Both the boys’ Basketball
and Baseball went on to win District Championships. Our Cheerleading
squad took 4 th place in the State Finals while our Band earned numerous
Superior ratings throughout the year.
The Council of Advisors (School Board) is near completion of a five year strategic plan. We hope to have this plan
completed by early 2012. The plan covers all aspects of the TCHS and provides a concrete plan to ensure the
existence of Trinity Catholic High School for many years to come.
On a different note, you will find a financial report, from our Office of Advancement for the past year. The 2010-11
Annual Fund collection, while only our second appeal, did significantly better than our first attempt. Our donor
participation rate continues to increase which goes against the current trends in the philanthropic field. Nevertheless,
this upward trend must continue in order for TCHS to remain vibrant and competitive. For this reason, we will be
depending upon the generous support of each one of you even more so than ever before. Please know how deeply
grateful we, who comprise Trinity Catholic High School, are for your generous support of our ministry here in Ocala.

established to help those families that have
experienced a hardship in their lives and need
assistance with tuition or fees. Many of our
families are experiencing difficult times in
this economy and we are so grateful to these

Financial Report
Building Debt
As of July 1, 2010 the debt for Trinity Catholic High School was $5.47 million dollars. In February 2010, Bishop
Wenski granted Trinity Catholic High School an interest free holiday. During this time all pledge payments and
donations made to the building fund were applied directly to the principal balance of the debt. The generosity of the
Bishop allowed us to reduce our building debt by $652,000 over the past year. The balance as of June 30, 2011 was

National Merit Scholar Winners
Way to Go Celtics!!
This year Marion County had 8 local finalists in the
prestigious National Merit Scholarship Program. Two of
these eight students were our very own Celtics, Kaitlyn
Parker and Delaney Pfister. Through their hard work
and dedication these girls have earned an outstanding
accomplishment.
Kaitlyn Parker, the Class of 2011 salutatorian, was
awarded a $64,000 scholarship as a National Merit
Scholarship Winner and will be attending the Burnett
Honors College at the University of Central Florida
where she will major in molecular biology and microbiology. Kaitlyn’s hobbies
are ballet and playing the piano. She has been a volunteer at Munroe Regional
Medical Center and tutoring students at Trinity Catholic.
Delaney Pfister was awarded a full scholarship to the University of Florida,
however, Delany opted to decline the award and attend the college she has
dreamed of since a small child, Notre Dame. At Notre Dame she will major in
biochemistry and would like to become a physician.
Delaney has been involved in the band program at
Trinity Catholic all four years and received a medal of
honor for her participation. She has been volunteering
her time at the children’s section of the Tavares Public
Library and Waterman Hospital.

Just weeks before graduation Trinity Catholic High School
senior Joseph Cotto became a published author.
The American Thinker: Realistic Solutions That We Need Now

Trinity Catholic salutes young Cotto for being both a thinker and
a doer, truly a man of “integrity and purposeful living” (as stated
in the TCHS Vision Statement).
Band Program Highlights:
Excellent Ratings at Florida Bandmasters Association
Marching Festival in November 2010. Percussion and Guard
Ensemble received Superior Ratings at this festival.
*Straight Superior ratings at District Concert Festival in
March, qualifying for State!
*Excellent and Superior ratings at State Concert Festival in
April, an overall Excellent rating!
*Soloists Mackenzie Seek, Colleen Sochacki, Matthew
Klump and the Percussion Ensemble (Ashley Peters, Preston
Kirkpatrick, David Dean, Delaney Pfister, Tori Nicholson,
Lewis Sims, Colton Singletary, and Bryce Uzzolino) received
Excellents on their State Solo and Ensemble performances in
Orlando in March.
*Soloists David Dean and Preston Kirkpatrick on their
Superior With Distinction ratings earned on memorized solos
at State Solo and Ensemble in Orlando in March.
Stentiford Wins Good Samaritan Youth
During the Spring of 2011, Tyler Stentiford received the Good Samaritan Youth Award from the
American Red Cross Mid-Florida Region for having more than 700 hours of community service
since 2008. After receiving the award Tyler explained that his parents have always sacrificed
for him and his little sister. He also explained, “They instilled in us that God comes first and is
the reason for everything we do. Something in my head clicked—I’m praising God in all I do. I
love everything I do and I thank God for it every day.”
Tyler credits his Catholic education with developing his sense of self. “Blessed Trinity Catholic
School made me feel that I am someone who can express my faith publicly. I am passionate
about it and about being surrounded by prayer and my friends. It’s something in my heart. I’ve
always known God. God’s a friend who’s always there for you.”
Congratulations Tyler on continuing to make Trinity Catholic proud.

Letter from Advancement
As I begin to recall the events and memories of
this past year I am reminded of all the good
works that God has blessed Trinity Catholic
with; families, students, administration,
faculty, staff, coaches and volunteers. Most of
all I am reminded of all the benefactors that
have given so generously over the years. Your
donations have enabled us to give our students
the gift of a Catholic Education. Through
special events, business partnerships,
emergency fund supporters and Celtic
Blessings partnerships our students are able to
reap the benefits of this Christ-centered
education.

College of Holy Cross as a Pharmacy Tech
Faith Carney ‘08 was accepted into the 2011
Rockettes Summer Intensive program. She was in
NYC the week of July 4 attending 12-hour
rehearsals and at the end of the week perform on
Broadway on the famous Radio City Music Hall
stage. Faith hopes to one day follow in the
footsteps of her grandmother, who was one of the
original Rockettes!
Meanwhile, back in Ocala, Faith has accepted an
offer to serve this fall as a teaching assistant in K-
A (Kindergarten Room A) at Blessed Trinity
School.
Faith has also become engaged to Pablo Morales,
Jr. and they will be married on June 23, 2012.
John Brantley ‘07 - Fall of 2010 became
the starting quarterback for the University of
Florida
Kim Hildner ‘07 graduated from the
University of Notre Dame! Kim has been
accepted into the medical program at the
Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine,
Chicago.
Ann Clare McGuire ‘07 - Graduated from
UF with a BA in History; currently studying at
USF for Masters in Teaching—Social Sciences
