Features and Technical Specifications Forma ® Stackable Orbital Shakers An Ideal Solution for Sensitive and “Hard Shake” Applications Thermo Electron Corporation’s newly designed Forma Stackable Orbital Shakers will meet the challenges of your sensitive cultures as well as your traditional “hard shake” bacterial cultures. Our units are designed for high volume scale-up cell culture, process optimization research at different temperatures and speeds (i.e., different growing environments), and high volume research conducted in labs with limited space and multiple environments or users. Applications involving eukaryotic cells and other slower growing cultures are more sensitive to contamination than traditional bacterial cultures. We help you keep the chamber clean and avoid cross contamination by providing a HEPA filtration system, one-piece interior, and coved corners. A notably uniform temperature (±0.3C) promotes the vitality of your cultures. And as for hardy bacterial cultures, these stable, space saving, stackable shakers have a wide speed range (usable even when units are stacked and bolted three high) that is ideal for your vigorous “hard shake” applications. Our expanded orbital shaker product line now includes stackable models in both refrigerated and incubated configurations. Incubated Model 440 (441) and Refrigerated Model 490 (491) are specially designed for laboratory professionals seeking high capacity shakers but lacking the floor space to accommodate multiple large console models. All models feature an insulated, fold-down door with wide-view window for high visibility.
