Mentors Open House
Talbot Mentors will hold an Open
House at its offices on Maryland Avenue in
Easton on Thursday, January 26, from noon
until 2 p.m. The event is an opportunity for
adults interested in learning about mentoring
to obtain information and meet current
volunteers and staff.
January is National Mentoring Month
and the students on Talbot Mentors’ waiting
list hope that more individuals in the
community will make New Year’s resolutions
to volunteer. Each mentor makes a
commitment to spend an hour or two each
week for a year being a friend to a child in
need of an additional adult presence in his
or her life.

The 2BoomerBabes, AKA Barbara
Kline and Kathy Bernard, will be the
speakers for the Brown Bag Lecture Series
on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at noon at
Talbot Hospice House in Easton. The event
is sponsored by the Friends of the Talbot
County Free Library.
Join them for a lively chat as they
highlight their favorite conversations with
best-selling authors, real estate moguls, entertainers,
travel experts, physicians and
everyday people living the moment.
“We’ve discovered that everyone has a
story to tell, a golden nugget,” states Barbara.
“Our show is a labor of love. We meet
fascinating individuals who each have their
own unique spin on life. You’ll laugh,
you’ll cry, or you just might savor the moment,”
adds Kathy.
2BoomerBabes Radio Hour is broadcast
on NPR affiliates WSCL (89.5FM) and
WSDL (90.7FM), on Saturdays and Sundays,
immediately following “Car Talk”.
