2000 Fund Evaluation Group (FEG), a professional money manager, is hired to manage the foundation’s assets. The MCCF successfully completes Gift IV, a 1.4 million dollar initiative. Assets reach $15 million dollars with 150 separate funds. 2001 The first web site for MCCF is created by Ginny Gibson, Chair, Public/Donor Relations. Roy Roush joins the board of directors and becomes MCCF’s legal counsel. 2002 Lilly Endowment awards MCCF with a $4.1 million dollar CAPE (Community Alliances to Promote Education) Grant—the largest single grant ever, public or private, given in Marshall County. Ancilla College serves as the fiscal agent. 2003 2003 The MCCF successfully completes Gift V, a 1.8 million dollar initiative. Assets reach nearly $20 million with 227 separate funds. The MCCF institutes the “Friends of the Foundation” award which honors individuals and/or organizations that have made significant contributions over the years to the growth and development of the Foundation. The award provides $50,000 towards a new or existing fund at the MCCF chosen by the recipient. The first honoree was the late Wilma S. Leman. In her memory the MCCF board establishes the Golden Girls Scholarship Fund. 2004 2004 The MCCF completes a year-long community needs assessment which researches the needs in Marshall County and explores the best ways to invest grant making dollars. Total assets of the MCCF exceed $20 million dollars with 191 separate funds. 2005 2005 The MCCF begins planning for a 3-year asset development and strategic plan. 2006 Will & June Erwin are honored by the MCCF with the Friends of the Foundation award. They establish the Tony and Mary Wood Scholarship Fund with the $50,000 award to benefit Heart & Hands, Inc. MCCF executive director R. Jeffrey Honzik retires. 2007 2007 The MCCF hires new executive director Jennifer S. Maddox on February 14th. Derek Jones joins the board of directors and becomes MCCF’s legal counsel. The MCCF web site is updated with a new look. MCCF launches the Generations Initiative on May 1, 2007. MCCF creates the Pennies from Heaven Youth Philanthropy program. Since inception the MCCF has awarded over $6.6 million dollars in grants to the community. Total Foundation assets exceed $25 million dollars with 232 separate funds. Celebrating Our History 6
