Boat Tours at AQUA
Our boat tours are done on small crafts owned and operated by a local professional tour
company. As the vessel is a light craft, you may get a bit wet so please bring a towel and
quick dry clothing or a bathing suit. We also recommend that you bring sunglasses, sunblock,
and a small snack. Water is provided on most boat tours.
Boat tours depart from AQUA’s beach. Please make your way down to the beachfront 10-
15 minutes before your scheduled tour time. Your boat captain will pull his craft to shore
and assist you with boarding.
Ocean swells may get a bit choppy at times due to wind and other changing weather conditions.
Your boat is equipped to handle these swells and must meet safety requirementshang
on and enjoy the ride! If the swells are to great for the boat to dock in Redonda Bay,
your tour may need to depart from Playa Gigante or be rescheduled. Please always check
with the reception to confirm the status of your pick-up in the early afternoon of your
scheduled tour date.
Captain Zack speaks good English and is always eager to answer questions. However, some
of our other boat guides may have more limited English skills, so please come with a flexible
spirit and be prepared to try out some of your newly acquired Spanish phrases!
Captain Zack hails from nearby Playa Gigante where he lives with his young son and
wife Esther. He is a trusted three year veteran of AQUA. Zack owns 3 small boats
and regularly picks up guests from the resort in his 25ft long skiff “Maria”.
Zack enjoys giving tours for the resort each week and making new friends from
around the world. He loves baseball and once played for the Nicaraguan professional
baseball team . A man of many talents, he has also served a term as the mayor of
the nearby town of Gigante.
Zack and his crew are excited to meet you and wish you a very warm “Bienvenidos
