FOR OWNERS AND OPERATORS

JULY 23-24, 2013 LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS


The Association of State Dam Safety Officials, (ASDSO), in

conjunction with the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission,

invites you to participate in two one-day Dam Safety Workshops

for Owners and Operators on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 23-24,

2013 at the AR Natural Resources Commission Office, 101 E Capitol

Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72201.

The workshops are designed to provide practical, straightforward

information on topics of importance to anyone that owns or operates

a dam. The purpose of these one-day workshops is to educate dam

owners and operators. Course agendas are located below under

“Workshop Sessions”.

The cost for each workshop is $25. You can attend one day for $25

or two days for $50. After July 12, the price will go to $35 for each

workshop.

The workshops will begin each day at 8:30 AM, and will end

promptly at 4:30 PM. A working lunch and refreshment breaks are

included in the $25 registration fee (daily). Free information will

be available throughout the day, and you will have the opportunity

to meet and network with your state dam safety officials, wellknown

experts in the field of dam safety, and other dam owners

like yourself. As part of the registration fee, you will receive a copy

of the Dam Owner and Operator Safety Workshop CD, which is a

valuable information resource.

Parking is available in the parking lot located at the corner of 6th

and Scott Street. Workshop participants should get a parking ticket

upon entrance and bring it with them into the building for validation

(free parking). Go to the first level exit out onto 6th Street (heading

toward The Rep), turn left to 6th Street and Main . Cross 6th Street,

going north on Main Street to find the public entrance. The public

entrance is before (South) of East Capitol Avenue.

ASDSO is a national, non-profit professional association of engineers

and others who own, regulate, or work on dams. For more information

Instructors

Eric J. Ditchey, P.E.

Mr. Ditchey has 30 years of experience in inspections, site

investigations, analyses, design, and construction phase services

for dam and levee projects. Mr. Ditchey has extensive experience

in the design and construction of both new dams and upgrading

or expansion of existing dams. He received undergraduate

and graduate degrees from Drexel University in Philadelphia,

Pennsylvania. Mr. Ditchey is a member of the ACI Committee on

Mass Concrete ACI 207. He also serves on several ASDSO committees

including the Advisory Committee, Legislative Committee, and is

chairman of the Northeast Region’s, Council for Safe Dams.
