Cutting

FABRIC LABEL 1ST CUT 2ND CUT 3rd CUT

MASF2102-W (A) A-1 (1) 9 ½" x 44" (3) 9 ½" x 9 ½" Cut twice diagonally

A-2 (2) 6 ½" x 44" (9) 6 ½" x 6 ½"

A-3 (1) 3 ¼" x 44" (4) 2 ½" x 3 ¼"

A-4 (4) 3 ¼" x 3 ¼"

A-5 (6) 3" x 44" (88) 2 ½" x 3"

From each of Sweet Sixteen cut (See diagram at right):

B-Q-1 (4) 3-7/8" x 3-7/8"

B-Q-2 (3) 2-1/2" x 2-1/2"

B-Q-3 * (2) 1" x 5-1/4"

*Measurements don’t need to be exact.

If you are only able to cut scant 1" x 5-1/4" units from

each 9" length sweet sixteen you will have enough

length for the narrow strip pieced borders.

Piecing

Make this darling baby wrap with your sweet sixteen packs. Have fun! We only have a few guidelines:

All Seams are 1/4". Press according to arrows, unless stated.

HST = Half-Square Triangle

RST = Right Sides Together

WSF = Wrong Side of Fabric

We use a notion we invented called BerriAngles for making the half-square triangles in this pattern. Give

them a try and you’ll find making triangles is easy and very accurate! See the diagram at top of next page

for instructions.

3. Join as diagrammed below. Press.

1. Using 3-7/8" squares, RST, make eight 3" Finished

Half-Square triangles from each fabric combination

listed below using one of the methods shown above.

HST measures 3-1/2" x 3-1/2"

4. Join narrow strips as diagrammed. Press seams in

same directions. Make four short strip sets (NC) and

four long strip sets (NS).

B-1 with Q-1

J-1 with I-1

C-1 with N-1

P-1 with G-1

D-1 with O-1

F-1 with K-1

H-1 with M-1

L-1 with E-1

5. Join NS sets to sides of quilt. Press toward NS. Trim

excess. Join NC to corners of quilt. Press toward NC.

Trim excess.

2. Make pinwheel blocks by joining four of each

Half-Square triangle made in step 1 as diagrammed

below. Press.

Pinwheel Blocks (PW) measure 6-1/2" x 6-1/2"

6. Corner Blocks. Join fabric units as diagrammed.

Press.

8. Join Corner Border blocks (CB) to corners of quilt

as diagrammed. Press toward CB. Join Side Borders

to sides of quilt. Press toward SB. Do not trim quilt in

this step.

Using a ruler, draw a line with pencil or marking pen

3/4" from bottom corner of square.

7. Join fabric units as diagrammed. Press. Join units

to make four pieced side borders (SB). Using a ruler,

draw a line on both sides of border strips with pencil

or marking pen 1/4" from corner of squares. Stitch

on the drawn line at the top of each border unit to

prevent fabric from stretching when quilting.

9. Optional: Cut binding strips from the following

sweet sixteens: MASF2104-PR, MASF2105-E,

MASF2108-E, MASF2111-WT, MASF513-G6, MASF513-

G7, MASF513-R3, MASF513-R1. Join bias strips.

If using Binding Miter Tool see instructions

for bias strip lengths.

Finishing

Layer quilt with batting and backing. Quilt as desired. Trim through all layers

allowing for ¼" seam. Bind quilt with pieced binding. (See image on front)
