What is Easter Really About?
We know that Easter is all about eggs and chocolate
but what is Easter really about. Easter is about when
Jesus was put on the cross. Why do we get Easter
Eggs and Chocolate—well this is why.
On Easter Sunday, Christians celebrate the resurrection
of the Lord, Jesus Christ. It is typically the most
well-attended Sunday service of the year for Christian
churches. Christians believe according to the
scripture, that Jesus came back to life, or was raised
from the dead, three days after his death on the
cross. As part of the Easter season, the death of Jesus
Christ by crucifixion, is commemorated on
Good Friday, always the Friday just before Easter.

What's on in Theatre-land?
Perhaps over Easter you’ll be looking for something to do. We have
researched what is on at the local theatres and here are our recommendations:
Sunderland Empire– If you liked the film Mamma Mia you might enjoy
the production Abba Forever. On the 2nd April A 6 piece band
electric and acoustic band and of course the Abba lads and lasses.
Theatre Royal Newcastle-On 21st—23rd April, if you like dance than
you will love Rambert . Rambert are a dance company who skillfully
blends dance and science in to a striking energetic performance. If you
love dance this is the must see performance.
Durham Gala Theatre– If you would to release your inner childhood
why not go and see the Gruffalo on the 3rd and 4th April, a story of
mouse on a adventurous journey into the deep. Mouse scares away animals
telling them about the Gruffalo but what happens to he comes face
to face with one? A imaginative story for the young an old.
Tyne Journal Opera House—firm family favourite, The Wizard of Oz
takes to the stage on 7th—11th April staring none other than Tracy
Beaker (Danni Harmer) as Dorothy. Who can resist this magical musical—but
will it beat our school play version of a few years ago? We
don’t know!
Customs House South Shields– The Magic of Music and Dance on
13th April showcases the talents of
young people from our region from the
Karen Shields School of Dance. It
would be a great night of entertainment
and would support our young
people too.
