Project Scope:

• Replace structurally deficient span wire poles

with mast arm poles and replace signal

Constitution Avenue/Peterson Road

Intersection Rehabilitation

Project Complete:

Phase 1 (completed November 2012):

installation of signal pole foundations, corner

islands and signing & striping.

Phase 2 (substantially complete March 2013):

erect new signal poles, signals, and controller;

transfer operations to new equipment; and

remove existing span wire installation.

• Pending final walk through (April 11) &

resolution of any punchlist items.

• Project completed within contract time &

under budget.

• Operations at intersection have substantially

improved with the addition of the islands.

Meridian Road (North) Phase 2

• PPRTA “A” list capital project.

Phase 2: Four lane section from Stapleton Rd

to Indian Paint Trail with transition back to two

lanes just south of Rex Rd.

• Utility relocations completed (MVEA,

• Property acquisition completed (6 properties)

• One property donation

Phase 2 construction nearing completion

• Approximately 80% complete

• Uncovered several unexpected soft spots

during construction that required over

excavation and stabilization

• Anticipate paving southbound lanes before

the end of April (weather permitting)

• Work on Stapleton intersection and

remaining work will be completed in May

• Expect to complete construction within the

contracted budget-$2.8 million.

New Tourmaline Dr. concrete island at the

intersection of Meridian Rd.

• Hodgen Road Safety Improvements Phase 2

• Scope: Improve horizontal & vertical alignments;

add shoulders & auxiliary lanes; improve drainage

• Schedule: Utility relocation April to June 2013;

Road reconstruction July to November 2013

• Construction Cost (RE Monks): $5M-PPRTA


• Black Forest /Burgess Intersection Rehabilitation

• Scope: add turn lanes; upgrade traffic signal;

improve vertical alignment; improve drainage

• Schedule: Road reconstruction early May to end

of July 2013 (60 working day contract)

• Construction Cost (RMMA): $1.5M-Road & Bridge

& PPRTA Maintenance
