LANTEK ® 6A – 500 MHz LAN Cable Certifier
LANTEK ® 6A is a new LAN cable tester capable of certifying CAT 6a installations.
Sweeping to 500 MHz, LANTEK ® 6A is fully compliant with *ISO Class Ea and
*EIA/TIA CAT 6a standards. With its combination of bandwidth and Level IIIe
accuracy (ETL verified), LANTEK ® 6A can accurately test 10 Gigabit Ethernet
(10GBASE-T) networks to assure that they meet the
transmission parameters of IEEE 802.3an. 10GBASE-T
provides data speeds up to 10 billion bits per second, and is
expected to be used extensively to interconnect local area
networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and
metropolitan area networks in the near future.
Like all LANTEK ® models, LANTEK ® 6A employs IDEAL’s
patented measurement system thereby allowing standard
patch cords to be used for link testing instead of bulky,
expensive test adapters and personality modules. All patch
cord effects are removed during the field calibration process
so both channel and permanent link certification of CAT 6a
is possible without having to change adapters or
reconfiguring the tester. LANTEK ® 6A can certify existing
CAT 6 cabling systems in under 20 seconds with the
average time for a CAT 6a autotest being only 22 seconds.
LANTEK ® 6A can store up to 43.000 tests without graphs in
internal memory and by using removable flash memory
cards storage capacity can be extended further.
Through it’s modular design, LANTEK ® 6A can be used for a
wide variety of applications. In addition to certification of
copper cabling to CAT5e/ISO Class D, CAT 6/ISO Class E
and *CAT 6a/ISO Class Ea standards, LANTEK ® 6A can certify and troubleshoot
fibre links by simply connecting the optional FIBERTEK and TRACETEK
modules.
LANTEK ® 6A also features DUALmode, a unique measurement technology that
allows both channel and permanent link parameters to be measured
simultaneously, saving both time and money. It also makes it possible to obtain a
combination of test results against different cabling standards. For example,
CAT6a and ISO Class Ea permanent link test results could be displayed at the
same time with only one press of the autotest button!
Additional features like a large colour VGA display, full-duplex talk function that
works over copper and fibre and an in-built tone generator for cable tracing help
make the LANTEK ® 6A a comprehensive yet simple tester to use.
LANTEK ® Reporter Software allows installers to upload test results and generate
professional reports. In addition, tester firmware updates can easily be performed
using this software.
Should you need to certify to ISO Class F or ISO Class Fa standards in the
future, LANTEK ® 6A can easily be upgraded to 1 GHz at our European Service
Centre. The upgrade is chargeable.
