Integrated BBA-MBA Degree Programme

O.P. Jindal Global University, NCR of Delhi

O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) is a non-profit global university

established by the Haryana Private Universities (Second Amendment)

Act, 2009. JGU was established in the memory of Mr. O.P. Jindal and as

a philanthropic initiative of Mr. Naveen Jindal, the Founding Chancellor.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has accorded its recognition to

O.P. Jindal Global University.

The vision of JGU is to promote global courses, global programmes, global

curriculum, global research, global collaborations, and global interaction

through a global faculty. JGU is situated on a 70-acre state-of-the-art

residential campus in the National Capital Region of Delhi. JGU is one of

the few universities in Asia that maintain a 1:15 faculty-student ratio and

appoint faculty members with outstanding academic qualifications and

experience from different parts of the world.

JGU has established four schools: Jindal Global Law School, Jindal Global

Business School, Jindal School of International Affairs and Jindal School

of Government and Public Policy. The University has tie-ups with leading

global educational institutions like Harvard University, Yale University,

University of Michigan, Indiana University, Cornell University, University

of California-Berkeley and Davis, and Cambridge University among others.

Jindal Global Business School

Jindal Global Business School (JGBS) began its first

academic session with an MBA programme in 2010. The

vision of JGBS is to impart global business education to

uniquely equip students, managers and professionals

with necessary knowledge, acumen and skills so as to

enable them to effectively tackle the challenges faced

by transnational businesses and industries. JGBS offers

a multidisciplinary global business education to foster

academic excellence, industry partnerships and global

JGBS faculty is engaged in research on current issues.

These include Applied Finance, Business Policy, Business

Management, Consumer Behaviour, Leadership, Supply

Chain, Quantitative Methods and Information Systems.

JGBS has established international collaborations for

providing global business education with the Naveen

Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at

Dallas, Kelley School of Business, Indiana University and

Carleton University in Canada.

About the Programme

The objective of the Integrated BBA-MBA 5-year Degree

programme is to enable students to embark upon a management

career after completing 10+2 level examination. The programme

provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the

fundamentals of business management and the opportunity to

pursue chosen areas of specialization. The design and delivery of

this integrated program is innovative and unique. It will equip

students with the knowledge and skills necessary to compete

successfully for challenging positions in industry, government,

non-profit organizations and civil services.

This programme will create excellent managers and also instill the

spirit of entrepreneurship so that the students evolve into leaders

and wealth creators in the years to come. The programme at JGBS

will be one of the most rigorous in the country and is designed to

prepare students with a global management perspective through

a unique pedagogy of learning and interaction among peers in a

modular format. Activities like live projects, field assignments and

simulation games will form an integral part of the programme. The

in-depth dissertation exercise will help achieve holistic learning

and also provide for a comprehensive understanding of the

contemporary business environment.

Option for a Post Graduate Degree Abroad

In the fifth year, students have the option to enroll for 1-year MS

Degree with a partner foreign university subject to the terms and

conditions of the host university.

Education at JGBS transcends the boundary of four walls of

classroom. The aim is to let the unique strength of each individual

flourish. The result is not only competent managers but also highly

motivated and confident individuals. Education of young minds

entails coming up with a vision for life that inspires a life-time of

learning, and self-actualization rather than mere skill-building to

make a living. JGBS, with faculty from the best institutions across

the world, incorporates the modern educational practices in its

pedagogy. Emphasis is on learning through discovering rather than

from classroom instruction, through problem-solving instead of

rote-learning and through critical thinking as opposed to acquiring

knowledge as information. This is the essence of being one’s own

teacher which is what we emphasize.

Today, grooming of future leaders involves a lot more than what it

took just a decade ago. As the world we live in shrinks and becomes

more interdependent and complex, holistic development of

students now involves learning more than just the field of specialty.

At JGBS, a student has the opportunity to learn a wide variety of

subjects from other schools – a flexibility that not many universities

in India offer. Equally important for complete development are

extra-curricular activities such as debates, dramas, sports etc.

which are a compulsory part of the curriculum.

Academic Overview

The integrated BBA-MBA 5-year Degree programme will have two

semesters per year during the first three years. In the fourth year

there will be three trimesters where specialization courses will be

taught. In the fifth year, students have two options:

1. Submission of a dissertation and participation in an action

learning program (ALP) with industry.

2. Option to pursue 1-year MS Degree at a partner University

Total credit requirement

For successful completion of the integrated BBA-MBA Degree

programme a student has to earn a minimum of 200 Credits (or

equivalent) distributed over coursework and a dissertation. There

is no provision of leaving after three years with a BBA Degree.
