This high-profile mission will be led by Willie Walsh, Chief
Executive, IAG and President of London Chamber of
Commerce. British Airways has a pivotal role in this
mission and is offering free business class flights to help
UK companies explore business opportunities in this
important market. In addition, Accor Hotels are offering
very favourable rates at their hotels. Our business
partner, KPMG, will be hosting networking receptions to
help participants make business contacts and providing
expertise on doing business in Brazil.
As the world’s 10th largest economy and 5th largest
consumer market, Brazil is on its way to becoming ‘the
country of tomorrow’. Expected to become the 5th
largest economy in the world in the next 10-15 years,
the country is geographically the size of Western Europe,
with a population of close to 200 million. Brazil is simply
too big a market to ignore.

COSTS
• Mission Participation Fee: £1,000 for Premier Plus
Members / £1,100 for Non-Members
• Refundable Commitment Fee: £500 (returned after the
mission subject to meeting the participation rules)
• Hotel accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis,
airport transfers and internal flight from São Paulo to
Rio de Janeiro: estimated cost £760
TRAVEL
British Airways are providing a limited number of free return
business class flights to Brazil. Mission members will be required
to book airport transfers and the internal flight from São Paulo
to Rio de Janeiro with Tam Airlines through our appointed agent,
Baxter Hoare Travel Management. Accor Hotels are offering
mission members preferential rates for accommodation on a bed
and breakfast basis at their hotels; the Pullman Hotel in São Paulo
and the Novotel in Rio de Janeiro. All mission members are
required to book their accommodation directly with these hotels
prior to departure.
ELIGIBILITY
To accompany this trade mission, your business must be a small
to medium-sized enterprise (maximum of 250 employees and
turnover of less than £20m) selling or marketing a British product
or service. Your business must also be well-established, trading
for more than three years with a minimum annual turnover
of £1m, registered with Companies House and employing a
minimum of two employees that travel overseas on business. Your
company must register for British Airways’ free loyalty
programme for small to medium-sized businesses ‘On Business’
prior to the mission. All applications will be subject to approval.
All participants must attend the pre-mission briefing in London
on Wednesday 6 July, the briefing and networking receptions in
São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, and fill in a post-visit questionnaire.
