Super-Megapixel Precision
Exceptional image quality simply wasn’t possible
in a personal digital camera until Fujifilm brought
all its experience to the MX-700. At the heart of
this top-of-the-line model is a new 1/1.7-inch
CCD that has 1.5 million square pixels. And this
extraordinary precision is matched by an RGB
primary-color filter with improved spectral
characteristics for even better color
reproduction.

The Pros Know
The Fujinon lens makes the most of the supermegapixel
CCD’s outstanding resolution.
Acclaimed for its performance in professional
broadcast cameras, the lens has a large F3.2
aperture, and offers the wide-angle versatility of a
focal length equivalent to 35 mm with a 35 mm
camera.
You’ll also have the precision of a pictureperfect
170 lines/mm and distortion cut to 0.3%
— two-thirds less than the figure for the lenses
generally used in personal
digital cameras. And the
high contrast brings
out all the details.
Power Play
Although everyone welcomes megapixel
quality, no one enjoys waiting while
larger files are processed and stored. But
with the MX-700, there’s no foot tapping:
The time between shots has been
cut to only 5 sec.
It has two high-speed RISC processors
with DRAM, and there’s a new
algorithm that speeds up processing further.
Even with this extra performance,
the design is as compact as you could
want. To achieve this balance of power
and convenience, we’ve used unprecedented highdensity
mounting and ultrathin chip technologies.

Very Good Manners
Just pick it up, and you’ll see instantly why
the MX-700 is a perfect companion. One of
the smallest and lightest megapixel cameras
available, it measures only 80 (W) ´ 101 (H)
´ 33 (D) mm/3.1 (W) ´ 4.0 (H) ´ 1.3 (D) in.,
and weighs 295 g/10.4 oz. (including the
battery).
You’ll also appreciate a design that
makes you want to keep it at hand. Both expressive and functional, the aluminum
finish has the feel of quality. And the distinctive contours add to those
good looks.
A Clear Viewpoint
The optical viewfinder makes composition as simple
and natural as it is with a 35 mm camera. Or you can
frame your subject in the large 2-inch LCD monitor.
Made of low-temperature polysilicon, the sharp TFT
display delivers a clear image whether you’re indoors or
outside. You can also use it to check a shot immediately — one of the definite
advantages of digital photography.
Cockpit Controls
Friendly control is built in when you combine the Mode Dial
and the Four-Direction Key with an LED Indicator. Just
select the appropriate settings for the scene and your creative
preferences.
The Intelligent Solution
Images are stored on a removable SmartMedia Card, so
you’ll always have room for another shot. The ultracompact
card also makes it easy to move files to a computer with the
optional PC Card Adapter PC-AD/PC-AD2 or the optional
Floppy Disk Adapter FD-A1. Of course, you can also use a cable to download
images to a PC through the MX-700’s serial port.
Keep On Shooting
To make sure that you don’t miss a shot, the MX-700 has a long-life lithiumion
battery. It lasts for approximately 80 images when the LCD is on or 250
when it’s off.

The most demanding digital photographers
will sometimes want to use
the array of manual features. In difficult
lighting — on a ski slope or in
backlit scenes, for example — the
Exposure Compensation can be adjusted from
–0.9 EV to +1.5 EV in 0.3 EV increments. There
are also a lot of other functions for creative control,
including White Balance Adjustment for the
type of light and Flash Power Adjustment. When
you want to record fast
action, simply pick the
Continuous Shooting
Mode to integrate 16 composite
images in a single
frame.

Possibilities
In moments, you’ll
find out how the
MX-700’s playback features
make family gatherings
more enjoyable and business meetings more
productive. You’ll want to use the Single Frame
Mode most of the time, but there are lots of others.
The Multi-Frame Playback Mode shows an array of
frames simultaneously. And in the Playback Zoom
Mode, you can check details by zooming up to 4´.
If you’re with a group of people, it’s easy to
display your images on a TV monitor. Just use the
video output terminal to connect the MX-700, and
let the discussion — or the fun! — begin.
Automatically Right
With the accuracy of its 64-zone metering
system, the Program AE Mode
gives you the appropriate exposure in a
wide range of situations. The CCD
Autofocus System also contributes to
sharp, eye-catching images.
In the Macro Mode, you’ll have the freedom of
moving in as close as 9 cm/3.5 in. and shooting
subjects as small as
a business card.
