Strategic Plan

MISSION | to provide nationally focussed ,

quality leadership and professional support

for the engagement of young people

in vocational learning, leading to

successful transitions.

Core aims which should be noted in relation to our mission statement include:

• Our focus is national – this is to ensure congruence between the expectations of our

members and our other key stakeholders and to assist in disseminating innovations and

initiatives efficiently and effectively nationally;

• Our target outcomes are quality leadership and professional support – these are

to be measured by the services we provide to our members and the advocacy we provide

on behalf of them;

• Our target members include individuals and organisations that support the

engagement of young people in vocational learning, leading to successful transitions;

• Successful transitions include school to work, training and further education.

As well, successful transition recognises individual pathways and achievements.


STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 1

Marketing and Public Relations

To devise new ways of promoting VETnetwork Australia.

To standardise the use of the VETnetwork Australia corporate •

logo and to develop common branding techniques.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 2

Personal Development

To offer a minimum of one professional development •

event in each state and territory every year

To enhance the support provided by the VETnetwork Australia National office •

for the National Executive and members in each state and territory.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 3

Governance

To develop National Executive policies including Code of Conduct, Privacy, Complaints, etc.

To develop an induction process for each state and territory representative on the National Executive.

To develop a delegation document for financial accountability and transparency. •

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 4

Effective Communication

To develop new ways of communicating with members including our IT and systems.

To increase the range of publications available and to ensure they cater for the broad range of members and their occupations. To increase our realisation of market segments and respond appropriately. •

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 5

Membership

To increase the range of services and advocacy offered to members.

To develop a strong understanding about who our •

members are and what level of information they require.

To increase membership yearly by 5% in each state and territory. •

Broadening Funding Opportunities

To increase the range of funding partners and key •

stakeholders who financially support VETnetwork Australia.
