The young Yorkshireman Henry Buck
opened a small shirt-making shop on Queen’s
Walk in Melbourne in August 1890. The business
grew and flourished and 123 years later has
become one of the world’s great gentlemen’s
outfitters with seven stores in Australia (as well
as our online store), still famous for exceptional
quality, particular style and uncompromising
customer service.
Henry Bucks still provide well dressed men
about town excellent advice on sartorial
individuality and correct dressing for every

THE HENRY BUCKS SHIRT
Henry Buck cut his first HB shirt in 1890 following the fine heritage
of London’s West End shirt-making and we honour this tradition to this
day. The famous Henry Bucks shirt in Thomas Mason’s 2-ply cottons –
single needle stitched, matching stripes and checks, pocket, split back
yoke, side gussets, mother-of-pearl buttons and removable collar bones,
is as good as any shirt in the world and offers extraordinary value.

Our sales associates are
professionally trained to know
how to look after you, how to
make sure you are properly fitted

sale than to sell you something
that doesn’t fit or is inappropriate
for the occasion. This way we

Henry Bucks are famous for
their made-to-measure shirts
and have been since 1890. Henry
himself was a shirt cutter and,
after all, shirts were the starting
point of our business 123 years
ago. We still make shirts to
measure, now in Sydney and
we still offer a quick delivery
and beautiful quality.
Likewise we can make you shirts
to order. That is to a standard
but adjusted fitting from a wide
range of fabrics, Italian and
English cottons and poplins.
MADE-TO-MEASURE
CLOTHING
From Dormeuil of France you
can order a suit, jacket or
trousers made to your measures
using a master garment
as a guide and adjusted to
your measurements. Choose
from hundreds of fabrics and
whichever style you prefer.
We also offer a made-to-measure
service in New Zealand at
reasonable prices and with
an extensive range of fabrics.
MADE-TO-ORDER CLOTHING
Made to order suits, jackets and
trousers can be tailored for you
by Canali in Italy at a fraction
above our normal retail price and
made from a large selection of
fine fabrics. A great way to order
a beautiful Canali suit in your
own choice of fabric and style.
BESPOKE TAILORING
Bespoke suits are another
service. Made to your measures
with a fitting and tailored in
Melbourne. Again hundreds
of superfine wools from England
and Italy to select from,
and expert advice from our
specialists.
CORPORATE ORDERS
We have very good and reliable
suppliers in England and Italy
who make especially for us and
who can make specific orders
for you, or for your corporation
or organisation. For instance
we make the ties and cufflinks
and other products for the
VRC, for the Prostate Cancer
Foundation of Australia and
many others. We will advise,
design, sample and deliver even
small quantities with the same
excellent service and expertise
that runs throughout our stores.

LIFETIME MAINTENANCE
GUARANTEE
We provide complimentary
repairs and maintenance to you,
the original purchaser, for the
reasonable lifetime of your suit.
For instance we will replace a
button, fix a seam, let the suit out
or take it up to a size depending
on your lifestyle. Just remember
to have the suit dry cleaned
(or let us do this for you)
before we give it to our tailors.
IN AN EMERGENCY
Whenever you have an emergency,
need something immediately,
some quick alterations, a bow tie
tied for you, some advice – please
call us and we will bend over
backwards to come to your rescue.
FREE ALTERATIONS
We do not charge for alterations
on suits, jackets and trousers
bought from us during the year at
full price. Sale products do attract
a charge we regret. Shirt sleeves
can be shortened also on the same
basis. We want you to be happy
with purchases and to make sure
everything fits perfectly.
DRY CLEANING
We offer the best dry cleaning
service using true specialists
and experts, professionals in the
respectful care of your clothes.
Bring your suits into us and we
will have them ready within the
week either to pick up or to be
delivered to your home or office.
DELUXE SHIRT LAUNDRY
Similarly we offer an expert
shirt laundry service which also
takes a week. Drop off your shirts
and pick them up a week later.
SHOE REPAIRS
A quick top quality shoe repair
and restoration at competitive
prices. Within reason we will
restore shoes to perfect condition,
re-sole and re-heel and do any
other repairs. Again bring them
in and we’ll have them ready to
walk out in a week. Now that
we have an association with
Beggar Man Thief in our Collins
Street store we have been able to
enlarge on this service to include
comprehensive maintenance
and care of your shoes and a
shoe shine whenever you call by.
UMBRELLA REPAIR
Bring in your brolly and we’ll
get it repaired and serviced for
you between thunderstorms.

has his traditional barber’s shop
in our flagship store on Collins
Street. Famous for many years
