<strong>Pure</strong> <strong>Lead</strong> <strong>Spiral</strong> <strong>VRLA</strong> <strong>Battery</strong> (SPB <strong>Series</strong>, referred as SPB hereafter) is a kind of new type of lead acid battery<br />
independently developed by Jiangsu Shuangdeng Group Co., Ltd. SPB utilizes pure lead grid and special spiral structure<br />
with very high assembly pressure and open valve pressure, which reduces water loss to a great extent. Compared with<br />
normal lead acid battery, SPB has many merits, such as excellent high and low temperature discharge capability, high<br />
current discharge capability, safe, fast charge acceptability. Based on different application fields, SPB has three kinds of<br />
designs: cycle type, Internal Combustion Engine starting type and the type specially for solar cell system.<br />
SPB is manufactured with 5 patented technologies, including 02112897.9, 03152809.0, 03221098.1, 200310112676.1<br />
and 200510040205.3.<br />
1. Characteristics<br />
Superior high and low temperature performance, workable under -55~75<br />
The condition is very tough when the battry are installed Outdoors. Normal lead acid battery can not be charged<br />
efficiently under low temperature, and will suffer from water loss, swelling, transformation, fast grid corrosion under<br />
high temperature; thus, the cycle life will be shortened.<br />
Shuangdeng SPB utilizes special low temperature active material formula, and achieves 2 to 3 times of electrode<br />
surface area compared to normal battery, which reduces the internal resistance to a great extent, and then makes<br />
itself to be chargeable under low temperature. In case of high temperature, the grid corrosion rate is usually very<br />
high; but for SPB, its cold-rolling pure lead grid has much higher corrosion resistance capability than normal lead alloy<br />
grid, therefore, SPB has much longer service life. In addition, SPB can avoid severe water loss, swelling or<br />
transformation by its cylindrical structure and 50kpa open valve pressure under high temperature, which ensure its<br />
long service life.
Good PSOC performance<br />
When a battery is applied in solar system, it can not be charged 100% after being discharged each time, then the<br />
battery begins to work under partial state of charge (abbr. PSOC); after a long period, part of the active materials will<br />
not be utilized, and lose their active capability, which leads to the failure of the batteries in a short time. However,<br />
with grid of 0.6mm ~ 0.9mm in thickness and imported special separator, its internal resistance is only one third of<br />
that of normal battery, and its capacity can be recovered to the common level after long period shelf life without<br />
particular charge method.<br />
Excellent low current charge acceptance<br />
Shuangdeng SPB uses high pure lead, it has much less side effect than the normal battery, therefore, Shuangdeng SPB<br />
can be charged with low current, and reach 90% charge efficiency even on cloudy or rainy days.<br />
No free electrolyte, workable with any orientation<br />
Shuangdeng SPB utilizes much 30% less electrolyte than normal battery; at the same time, its electrolyte is<br />
completely absorbed in the plate and AGM separator, which results in no free electrolyte in the battery; therefore,<br />
Shuangdeng SPB can be placed at any orientaton without leakage.<br />
Steady high voltage output, high energy density<br />
Due to the extremely low internal resistance, high output voltage remains steady voltage under middle and high rate<br />
discharge.<br />
Long service life<br />
The cycle life is 350 under 100% DOD at C/5 discharge rate.<br />
The design service life under floating application is 15 years.<br />
The design service life in solar application is 10 years.<br />
Fast chargeable, 95% state of charge can be reached in 40 minutes.<br />
Starting type SPB can be discharged with super high discharge rate, the max. discharge rate is 18C10.<br />
Very good consistency, can be connected serially and/or in parallel.<br />
Shelf life is almost 2 years.<br />
