From Delamere station<br />

Delamere Forest Park<br />

<strong>The</strong> <strong>Mid</strong> <strong>Cheshire</strong> Line runs through the forest and the station is just a ten minute stroll from the<br />

visitor centre. Catch the train to Delamere station to enjoy miles of free walks through the forest<br />

and beyond, go orienteering or hire a bike and tackle the challenging bike trails.<br />

You can also get up high and appreciate the forest from the tree line by “Going Ape”<br />

goape.co.uk. <strong>The</strong>re are refreshments at Linmere Visitor Centre or in the Delamere station café on<br />

the platform.<br />

At Delamere Forest, there is a wide range of ranger-led interactive educational programmes and<br />

activities for schools and other groups including cubs, brownies and birthday parties. To find out<br />

From Knutsford station<br />

Tatton Park<br />

Tatton Park Mansion is just over a mile walk through Tatton<br />

Park estate from the station. Visit the Neo-Classical<br />

Mansion, explore 50 acres of Gardens, Tudor Old Hall, the<br />

Tatton Park working Farm and 1000 acres of parkland.<br />

<strong>Group</strong> rates are available to pre- booked groups of 12<br />

people or more and represent a 20% saving off the normal<br />

admission rates.<br />

Tatton has an extensive educational programme for schools and colleges, including Living History<br />

sessions, Hands-On History Days that give children an experience of everyday life from the Anglo-<br />

and Environmental Days which are science and geography-based educational programmes<br />

‘Playing Up’ offers imaginative activities in English and English Literature within a heritage<br />

Knutsford Heritage Centre and Tapestry<br />

FREE ENTRY<br />

<strong>The</strong> Heritage Centre welcomes group visits and can provide a range of<br />

activities, catering for groups up to 45. <strong>Group</strong> visits can be made available<br />

during the day or evening and can include various activities including a talk<br />

about the Tapestry and guided tours around Knutsford.<br />

From Altrincham station<br />

Ice Rink<br />

Silver Blades Altrincham caters for all disciplines; general skating for newcomers, figure skating,<br />

ice hockey, and speed skating for the experienced. <strong>The</strong>re is hot food in the café area and a<br />

warm cafe bar to relax in. <strong>The</strong> rink is home to the Manchester Phoenix Hockey team.<br />
