Bananas Scores Peak 370 in LA;
Beyond Limits Gains 700 Points
LOS ANGELES—A dozen first runs
grossed in the rewarding 110-370 range,
with the top percentage belonging to firstweek
"Bananas" at the Fine Arts. Pressing
the newcomer for peak honors was surprising
"Beyond All Limits" with a 350 second
week at the Mayan—surprising because the
initial frame for this picture produced a 250
percentage the preceding report week. Behind
this aggressive duo clustered a mixed
quartet of new and holdover features on

In Agreement to Merge
HOLLYWOOD—Technicolor. Inc., of
Hollywood and Movielab, Inc.. of New
York City, announced that agreement in
principle had been reached toward merger.
Under the terms of the merger agreement,
Technicolor will issue 175.438 shares of its
stock in exchange for the 1.407.266 shares
of Movielab stock currently outstanding.
The public stockholders of Movielab will
receive one share of Technicolor stock for
7.62 shares of Movielab. Saul Jeffee. chairman
and chief executive officer of Movielab
and owner of 604.685 shares of Movielab
stock, or 43 per cent of the outstanding

Kiddies Shows for 6 Days
At Two Hartford Houses
From New England Edition
HARTFORD—The ABC first-run 850-
seat Central, suburban West Hartford, ran
matinee kiddies shows comprised of "The
Big Bad Wolf" and "Sleeping Beauty," respectively,
for six days, charging 75 cents
for all seats.
The first film was screened Monday
through Wednesday, the other Thursday
through Saturday.
The week-long "series" was co-sponsored
by the West Hartford department of parks
and recreation.
Standard Time for Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS—The Indiana Legislature's
decision to keep Indiana on Standard
Time, while most of the nation went to
Daylight Saving Time, is expected to be of
some comfort to drive-in theatre operators,
who have long protested against DST as a
hardship on their business.
