Figure X.3-1 shows the basic flows expected in the <strong>Perinatal</strong> <strong>Workflow</strong> profile. The registration<br />
actor performs registration and updates of mother information. These updates can be sent to the<br />
Care Manager, Order Placer, Order Filler, or Health Information Exchange.<br />

Registration of the mother can occur in the obstetric or labor and delivery setting, or in the<br />
Health Information exchange prior to, or during the mother’s first visit to the organization<br />
providing perinatal care.<br />
