The Section Convenor will pay Prize money at 4.30pm at the Section area.<br />

Exhibits are to be staged by 9.00am. Judging will begin at 9.30am.<br />

The <strong>Kapunda</strong> Show <strong>Society</strong> invites interested members<br />

<strong>of</strong> the community to join the<br />

inaugural “<strong>Friends</strong> <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Kapunda</strong> Show”.<br />

Involvement mainly includes preparation for the Show in<br />

the week leading up to Show Day.<br />

Expressions <strong>of</strong> interest will be most welcome and can be<br />

directed to any <strong>of</strong> the Executive Committee [details<br />

within this Show Book].<br />

EXHIBITOR RULES & REGULATIONS<br />

Full Membership Privileges<br />

Financial Members on Show Day <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Kapunda</strong> & <strong>Light</strong> <strong>Agricultural</strong> <strong>Society</strong> Inc. are entitled to<br />

admission tickets to the Show, a voice and vote at the following AGM 20 November 7.30pm<br />

Livestock Membership<br />

All Livestock Exhibitors must be Members <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Society</strong>. Livestock Membership consists <strong>of</strong> 4<br />

Livestock Member Passes.<br />

Livestock exhibitors must adhere to all bunting, “No Parking” signs situated around the<br />

Grounds and Regulations in Horse Schedule, or they will be asked to move their vehicles.<br />

Opening Times <strong>of</strong> the Showground and Pavilion Area.<br />

The Showground will be open to the public at 8.00am & the Pavilion will be open after judging is<br />

completed. It is important to clear the Pavilion by 9.25am or disqualification will occur.<br />

Lodging <strong>of</strong> Entries<br />

Exhibitors are asked to make entries on the forms provided by the <strong>Society</strong> and addressed to: The<br />

Secretary, <strong>Kapunda</strong> Show <strong>Society</strong>, PO Box 85, <strong>Kapunda</strong> 5373. POSTAL ENTRIES for most<br />

Sections MUST BE RECEIVED BY FRIDAY 26 OCTOBER 2012 with a Stamped, Self-Addressed<br />

Envelope for return <strong>of</strong> Section Tickets. Entries may be lodged at <strong>Kapunda</strong> & <strong>Light</strong> Show Office,<br />

<strong>Kapunda</strong> Harness Racing Club, Hancock Road, <strong>Kapunda</strong>. Office located in the Betting Ring.<br />

Closing Dates for entries are as per individual Sections, and Exhibitors are asked to check these. *<br />

ALL ENTRIES must be presented to the Secretary in writing.<br />

Show Office open Friday 26 Oct to Wednesday 31 Oct, 10.30 am to 4.30 pm<br />

Prize money<br />

All prize money will be forfeited if not collected before 16th November 2012.<br />

Entry Details<br />

Exhibits will not be received later than 9.15am and must not be removed until 4.30pm. Any<br />

Exhibitor removing his or her property before the stated times will forfeit his/her prize money. All<br />

stock must be the bona-fide property <strong>of</strong> the Exhibitor. The Stewards at any time may ask any<br />

Exhibitor for pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong> ownership. All Exhibitors and Public must leave the buildings and show ring<br />

whilst judging is in progress [excluding where it is necessary to attend stock e.g. Horse Events]. No<br />

one but the Stewards appointed to wait on the Judges at the time <strong>of</strong> judging are allowed to<br />

remain in the Ring. Judges are empowered to withhold prizes where exhibits are considered<br />

unworthy, or they may award 2nd or 3rd prizes in lieu <strong>of</strong> 1st and 2nd. They are also empowered to<br />

decide the age <strong>of</strong> any animal and may require the owner to supply a certificate <strong>of</strong> age. Competitors<br />

may affix their names and selling prices on Exhibits after the Judges have made their awards.<br />

Interference with, or alteration <strong>of</strong> tickets either by competitors or public is strictly prohibited.<br />

Competitors seen interfering with exhibits will be disqualified. The attention <strong>of</strong> the Secretary or<br />

Stewards should be called to any supposed error immediately.<br />

All protests must be lodged in writing to the Secretary, within 30 minutes <strong>of</strong> the event closing<br />

accompanied by a fee <strong>of</strong> $30. This fee will be forfeited to the <strong>Society</strong> should the protest not be<br />

upheld. The Committee’s decision is final; no correspondence will be entered into.<br />

The Committee will endeavour to protect exhibits against damage and loss, but will not be<br />

responsible for them in any case. Exhibits left at the Office prior to the Show will be left at the<br />

Exhibitors own risk. No Food, Plants or the like will be allowed to be left prior to the Show.<br />

Exhibitors are requested to note times for lodging and collecting entries from Sections entered.<br />

Pavilion exhibitors are requested not to block main entrance to pavilion and adhere to all<br />

signs and bunting placed there for their benefit. All stock and Pavilion exhibits are to enter by<br />

the Hancock Road gate [the only entry point]. No Exhibitor or his/her agent shall have personal<br />

communication with the Judges whilst in the execution <strong>of</strong> their duties, on it being proved that<br />

communication has been held, the Exhibitor shall be disqualified. Any Exhibitor or attendants with an<br />

exhibit, or person giving annoyance to the Judge, making use <strong>of</strong> abusive language to the Secretary<br />

or Committee shall be liable to have his or her exhibit disqualified. The <strong>Society</strong> will not be<br />

responsible for any accident that may occur during delivery <strong>of</strong> any exhibits, but every<br />

reasonable care will be taken with exhibits.<br />

EXHIBITOR RULES & REGULATIONS - Continued<br />

No entry will be accepted from any person disqualified by the <strong>Kapunda</strong> Show <strong>Society</strong> or the<br />

Northern <strong>Agricultural</strong> Shows Association during the period <strong>of</strong> such disqualification and should any<br />

entry be accidentally accepted it shall, when discovered, be deemed void and entry fee forfeited.<br />

The Committee reserves the right to cancel any class should they consider the weather or other<br />

conditions unsuitable.<br />

Any disqualified entry for justifiable reasons, Entry Fee will not be refunded.<br />

DISPUTES COMMITTEE - President, Secretary, Judge, Convenor & Committee Member.<br />

SPECIAL NOTE: - Whilst every care has been exercised in the compilation <strong>of</strong> this Show<br />

Program the Committee will not hold itself responsible for any errors or omissions and reserves the<br />

right to amend the order <strong>of</strong> running <strong>of</strong> events should it be deemed necessary.<br />

Convenors to ensure Trophies are available on show day.<br />

Sponsorship to be arranged by the Convenor<br />

Attend Section Areas at 4.30pm to supervise removal <strong>of</strong> exhibits and assist with<br />

trophies and payment <strong>of</strong> Prizemoney.<br />

STEWARD GUIDELINES<br />

Stewards to be at their Sections at 8.00am.<br />

Attend to receiving and placing <strong>of</strong> exhibits.<br />

Assist the Judge with Section Books, prize cards etc., and <strong>of</strong>fer information and<br />

help as necessary.<br />

Calculate Aggregate Points on completion <strong>of</strong> judging and record the Trophy<br />

winners in Section Books before returning them to the Secretary’s Office.<br />

Attend Section Areas at 4.30pm to supervise removal <strong>of</strong> exhibits and assist with<br />

trophies and payment <strong>of</strong> Prize money.<br />

Horse Stewards to keep accurate records <strong>of</strong> winners on paperwork provided,<br />

and must Initial when giving the Exhibitor the prize money.<br />
