Methods of Estimating ET<br />
• Since ET is the largest flux OUT of the<br />
watershed, we need good estimates<br />
• Techniques have focused mostly on predicting<br />
capacity (i.e., PET, where water is not limiting)<br />
– energy balance methods<br />
– m<strong>as</strong>s transfer or aerodynamic methods<br />
– combination of energy and m<strong>as</strong>s transfer (Penman<br />
equation)<br />
