partners to determine the best possible way to accomplish these goals.<br />
Item 11:<br />
Update and discussion regarding the Non-Profit <strong>Housing</strong> Community Survey.<br />
Mr. Fernandez informed the Commissioners and the residents that SAHA will be conducting a<br />
resident survey at the 19 nonprofit communities currently managed by SAHA and Orion<br />
Management. The purpose of this survey is to receive feedback from the residents in the<br />
following areas:<br />

customer service<br />
maintenance repair<br />
property curb appeal<br />
security<br />
resident activities<br />
The survey is currently in draft form but the final survey is scheduled to be distributed on Friday,<br />
February 22, <strong>2013</strong>.<br />
Item 12:<br />
Public Comment.<br />
Resident comments and issues raised:<br />
1. Several residents expressed their gratitude to SAHA for installing new safety lights and<br />
additional fencing.<br />
2. A number of concerns were raised about a vacant house, owned by Urban Connections, that<br />
is in poor condition. Drug-related items have been found on the property.<br />
3. Resident stated he was unhappy that there are no African Americans on the SAHA Board of<br />
Commissioners. He believes SAHA is lacking in racial diversity.<br />
Ms. Castro Ramirez invited the residents to remain after the meeting adjourned to meet with the<br />
property managers regarding any concerns they may have.<br />
Item 13:<br />
Briefing on Lincoln Heights Courts and tour of property.<br />
Lincoln Heights was built in 1940 with a total of 338 residential units, including 17 handicappedaccessible<br />
units. There are 91 one-bedroom units; 156 two-bedroom units; 87 three-bedroom<br />
units and 4 four-bedroom units. The property provides an on-site case worker; urban connection<br />
community center; food commodities; summer food program; fitness services; kids club; summer<br />
youth employment program; and various health fairs throughout the year.<br />
The property is located in the <strong>San</strong> <strong>Antonio</strong> Independent School District, which includes Crockett<br />
Elementary, Pauline Nelson Elementary; Irving Middle School; and Thomas Jefferson High<br />
School. The property is located in City Council District 1, represented by Councilman Diego M.<br />
Bernal.<br />
The meeting was attending by approximately 20 residents.<br />
