midwinter, TSA/Imperial competition, and other Official Functions or<br />

Activities approved by General Order. Units and club activities shall not<br />

schedule events on the same day as a <strong>Shrine</strong> Center function. Always<br />

check the <strong>Shrine</strong> Center calendar to be sure your plans do not conflict with<br />

an already scheduled <strong>Shrine</strong> Center Official Function or Activity. Make<br />

sure you or a member of you unit submits an article to the Achbar<br />

and/or eAchbar. Keep your members active and in<strong>for</strong>med, include pictures!<br />

Each club, unit, or organization associated with <strong>Alzafar</strong> is responsible<br />

<strong>for</strong> maintaining a complete and detailed record of all assets, funds received,<br />

and disbursed by the club, unit or group. Units and Clubs are prohibited<br />

from owning property. All assets belong to <strong>Alzafar</strong> <strong>Shrine</strong>rs. There<strong>for</strong>e,<br />

all unit heads must in<strong>for</strong>m the Recorder of their desire to dispose of<br />

any significant asset and the procedure to be used in disposing of an asset.<br />

If over $500.00, wait <strong>for</strong> approval! All financial records and transactions are<br />

to be made available to the Divan and/or Finance Committee upon request.<br />

<strong>Alzafar</strong> <strong>Shrine</strong> <strong>Temple</strong> (<strong>Alzafar</strong> <strong>Shrine</strong>rs) is a not-<strong>for</strong>profit<br />

unincorporated association organized under Internal<br />

Revenue Service Section 501 c(10). Utmost care should<br />

be taken in the handling of all financial matters. It is the<br />

responsibility of the unit head to see that all required financial<br />

reports are filed in a timely manner. These reports are due in the<br />

Center office by January 30th. If you have any questions in regard to the<br />

handling of monies or assets contact the Treasurer <strong>for</strong> a ruling. Deposit<br />

early and do not keep cash on hand!<br />

The assigning of personnel to officiate at unit and club installations<br />

is the responsibility of the Potentate. Preference will be given to current<br />

Divan members. Requests <strong>for</strong> an installing officer should be submitted to<br />

the Potentate no later than 30 days be<strong>for</strong>e the installation. Should a unit or<br />

club desire a particular individual to per<strong>for</strong>m these honors, they should<br />

make their request in writing to the Potentate.<br />

It is the responsibility of the head of each unit or club to see that<br />

their unit or club is represented at every ceremonial and OC meet-
