the regional "More Developed Mediterranean" mean in terms of background data:<br />

(per capita income in 1960, Figure 6.14), human capital development (school<br />

enrolment ratios, Figure 6.16); and conditioning factors: openness (Figure 6.19),<br />

government consumption as a proportion of national income (Figure 6.20), and<br />

even, though less closely, investment levels (Gross Domestic Investment Rates,<br />

Figure 6.18).<br />
