The University of Western Ontario supports
the physically challenged. Members of the
University Community with long term or
temporary physical disabilities may apply
for access to all areas designated with the
recognized international symbol. Disabled
permit parkers are also granted access to all
metered areas on campus.
Graduate Student Parking
Permit
If you are a student registered in a Graduate
program (MA, PhD or other authorized
Graduate degree) and wish to park your vehicle
on campus, you will need to purchase a permit
and display it in your window. Graduate
Students at Western are eligible to obtain a
parking permit for the Perimeter (grey) lots.
All permits are issued for a period of (up to
twelve) months (September 1 to 31 August)
and are issued on a Non-Reserved basis —
meaning spaces are available on a first come
first served basis.

Huron
Parking at Huron requires a parking permit.
Permits are available on request upon filling
the required paperwork available at www.
huronuc.ca/pdf/ParkingApp.pdf. As parking
will also be offered to the Western staff and
students starting August 16, it is important for
students to get their pass early. Parking passes
are to be picked up in person in the Mail Room
(basement level, south end, by Maintenance/
Housekeeping) starting August 9th, 2010.
A parking permit does not guarantee you a
parking space, particularly in winter. For more

Undergraduate Parking
Lots

Although green coded lots are all
about the same distance from the
campus core, some are perceived
to be “closer” and will fill more
quickly, according to predictable
cycles:
Medway fills to capacity by about
10:30am. Usage drops off quickly at 2:00pm.
Huron Flats and Althouse lots do not fill to
capacity.
If you arrive on campus before 8:30, typically
you may still get a space at Medway. If you arrive
mid-morning or later, go directly to Huron
Flats or Althouse. Please do not sit and wait
longer than a few minutes for a space to open
up. There is adequate space elsewhere, and it
is much better use of your valuable time to go
directly there. If you have questions or need
directions to available lots, ask at the Welcome
Centre.
During the summer months (May-August),
undergraduate (green) permit holders have
access to all green zone lots as well as the
following grey zone lots; South Valley, Springett,
Elborn and Visual Arts.
How do I Reserve an
Undergraduate Parking Permit for
the Academic Year?
Internet
The most convenient way to obtain your
parking permit is to use our internet form:
www.uwo.ca/parking/application_prereq.
html. Follow the instructions on the application.
This section is secured and therefore payment is
required in order to guarantee your permit.
In Person
The parking office will gladly process your
application in person. We are located in Room
4150, Support Services Building. Be prepared
for long line-ups during Orientation Week.
Please Note:
Permits requested during the spring/summer
months for the academic year (1 September - 30
August) will be processed during the summer
and will be available for you to pickup in Room
4150, Support Services Building after July 15.
Parking space at the University is limited. All
arrangements are made on a first-come, firstserved
basis and we regret that not all requests
can always be accommodated.

Visitor Parking Options
Public parking is available at easily accessible
points around campus. Visitors and invited
guests should be directed to one of our
available visitor facilities, visitor attended
lots, meters, or pay and display metered
areas.
The University is a large, active
and complex place. Parking location,
availability and function may be obtained
at the Information Centers located at the
Richmond and Western Road entrances to
campus. Information kiosks are attended
by student staff (Monday to Friday, 8am -
4pm) who are equipped with campus maps
and are happy to assist visitors to reach
their destinations. All parking on campus
is restricted to lots/spaces that have been
marked and/or signed for such purpose. The
University campus is private property and
parking is prohibited in any location where
not specifically authorized.

lots, unless otherwise indicated:
