Learning Objectives: After this activity, participants should be able to:

• Describe the key components of team-based learning (TBL)

• Discuss strategies to encourage team formation for TBL sessions in health professions education

• Develop meaningful team assignments/application exercises for a TBL session

• Discuss facilitation skills to enhance the learning experience and classroom climate for a TBL session

Registration: Lunch is included. On-site registration is welcome, but seating, course materials and meals

cannot be guaranteed for on-site registrants.

of Tennessee College of Pharmacy; Associate Professor, Dept of Family Medicine at the University of

Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine

Directions: UTCOM faculty should walk if possible because there will be limited parking available in the

Fifth Street parking garage and on the street. The UTC University Center is 0.4 miles southwest from the

Erlanger Hospital Baroness Campus. From Erlanger, go west on Third Street (up the hill), turn left on

Palmetto Street, and then turn right on Fifth Street. The University Center is on your left after you pass 3

speed bumps/cross walks. There will be signs to guide you to the Chattanooga room.
