WHO SHOULD ATTEND<br />

<strong>The</strong> <strong>Public</strong> <strong>Works</strong> Continuing Education Conference is intended <strong>for</strong> experienced<br />

managers and other public officials concerned with public works management.<br />

Other people who meet program eligibility may also enroll.<br />

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY<br />

To be eligible <strong>for</strong> enrollment, one of the following prerequisites must be satisfied:<br />

possession of a Certified <strong>Public</strong> <strong>Works</strong> Manager (CPWM) license; Water or<br />

Wastewater Licensed Operator; NJ Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)<br />

Certified Recycling Professional; or current enrollment in the CPWM program with<br />

satisfactory completion of Management Tasks, Responsibilities and Practices; Human<br />

Resources; and <strong>Public</strong> Relations.<br />

REGISTRATION INFORMATION<br />

<strong>The</strong> registration fee includes tuition, continental breakfast, breaks, and luncheon.<br />

Early registration is encouraged. Registrations are processed on a first-come, firstserved<br />

basis. Attendees should submit registration <strong>for</strong>ms with method of payment<br />

in order to reserve a space. No confirmations will be sent. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Center</strong> reserves the<br />

right to cancel any course or seminar. CGS will notify all students enrolled if there<br />

is a cancellation and the in<strong>for</strong>mation will be posted on the CGS website.<br />

WITHDRAWAL<br />

Participants who wish to cancel their registration may do so up to three (3) business<br />

days prior to the start of the conference date. Participants must submit their notice<br />

of withdrawal in writing to the <strong>Center</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Government</strong> <strong>Services</strong> in order to receive<br />

a refund of the full conference fee less a $25 processing charge. Faxed requests are<br />

accepted at (732) 932-3586.<br />

A CGS certificate and a breakdown of continuing education credits earned will be<br />

mailed to all conference attendees upon review of session attendance and<br />

payment of the general conference fee. Individuals interested in obtaining<br />

separate NJWEA certificates <strong>for</strong> sessions approved by this agency should contact<br />

it directly. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Center</strong> will provide DCA, NJWEA, and the Recycling<br />

Certification Advisory Committee with attendance records <strong>for</strong> approved sessions.<br />

SESSION HANDOUTS<br />

Conference handouts will be available online at<br />

www.cgs.rutgers.edu/programs/public-works. No handouts will be distributed at<br />

the conference. Please visit the website and print out any handouts ahead of time.<br />

PUBLIC WORKS ASSOCIATION OF NEW JERSEY MEMBER SUBSIDY<br />

<strong>The</strong> <strong>Public</strong> <strong>Works</strong> Association of New Jersey (PWANJ) has offered to subsidize a<br />

portion of the conference registration fee <strong>for</strong> its active members. If you are currently<br />

a member of the PWANJ with dues paid in full, please mark the registration<br />

<strong>for</strong>m accordingly. All membership inquiries should be directed to the PWANJ.<br />

<strong>Rutgers</strong> will work with the association to ensure membership status be<strong>for</strong>e granting<br />

the discount.<br />

HOTEL INFORMATION<br />

ACCOMMODATIONS<br />

Overnight accommodations are available at Bally’s Atlantic City <strong>for</strong> $69 per night<br />

<strong>for</strong> single or double occupancy, plus applicable room tax and fees. Each additional<br />

person per room is $20.00. Reservations must be made through Bally’s Reservations<br />

Department by calling (888) 516-2215. Please identify yourself with the 9th<br />

Annual <strong>Public</strong> <strong>Works</strong> Continuing Education Conference or use Group Code SB-<br />

03PW3 to receive the discounted rate. Reservations must be made be<strong>for</strong>e February<br />

28, 2013. Any reservations made after the cut-off date are on a space available basis<br />

and may not be given the discounted rate. A credit card is required at the time of<br />

booking. Cancellations less than 72 hours prior to arrival will be subject to a <strong>for</strong>feiture<br />

of one night’s room charge.<br />

PARKING<br />

Overnight Guests - <strong>The</strong> current parking fee <strong>for</strong> overnight guests is $5.00 <strong>for</strong> self<br />

parking or $10.00 <strong>for</strong> valet per stay.<br />

Daily Attendees - <strong>The</strong> current parking fee <strong>for</strong> guests attending one day of the conference<br />

is $5 per day.<br />
